We wanted to share a personal update. We have made the difficult decision to cease operations at the coffee shop. Regrettably, the business has not returned to its pre-pandemic vitality, and sustaining the shop has become untenable. We tried to hang in there for as long as we could and just couldn't do it any longer.

It's also important to mention that since we opened our coffee shop, we have faced significant natural challenges. Our shop has been flooded by hurricanes five times, with water rising up to 12 inches inside the shop. This has led to the unfortunate destruction of over seven fridges and freezers, incurring substantial replacement costs that have heavily impacted our finances.

With the effects of Covid-19, shipping of both coffee and coffee packaging bags has quadrupled in time. A container of coffee and Fair-trade items used to take 3-5 weeks at most, from our villages, to our warehouse here in St. Augustine. Now, it takes a minimum of 6 months to 9 months.

The increase in rent was a final stroke!

However, we remain passionate about our coffee and are pivoting to direct our efforts towards farmers markets and expanding our online sales presence on

The Veteran Garden Project has placed one of their beautiful community plant shelves on our patio for locals to take or leave plants. Stop by and leave some seeds, clippings, or even a little plant in exchange for one of the other plants that are brightening our outdoor space.

Absolutely awesome! We are in town for the weekend and popped in this morning for coffee. The homemade scones, muffins, and Kenyan coffee were fantastic! On top of that, they were so friendly and welcoming. If you’re in St Augustine do not miss this place, we will definitely be back! - Chelsey V.
