APHEX TWIN listening event and EARLY SALE to celebrate the new expanded reissue of Selected Ambient Works Volume II — we’ll be listening to the album in-full at 10am when we open AND we will be selling the album a full 3 days early! We’ll have a very limited number of posters to give away as well. All signs point to this album selling out almost instantly, so I wouldn’t sleep on this!

‼️ SPECIAL GUEST .jeff will be making an appearance at our George Strait listening party this Wednesday at 4pm! Jeff was part of the songwriting team that wrote the lead single ‘Three Drinks Behind’, which kicks off the brand new album Cowboys and Dreamers that we will be listening to, 2 days before its official release. Jeff will be coming over from the FL panhandle to perform a few songs in-store after the album is over. We will also be giving out copies of this excellent large poster, and one lucky winner will take home this killer box set that includes two records, a t-shirt, a slip at, and a vinyl brush (swipe for images of both). Jeff may also have some cool giveaways and/or things for sale as well.

Fun fact: George Strait, the “King of Country Music,” recently made headlines by setting a record for the largest single ticketed concert in U.S. history, drawing an impressive 110,905 fans to Kyle Field in June 2024.

ring in release night with other carpenters at Tonevendor at midnight on august 22nd / 23rd (thursday night!). we will have plenty of giveaways (posters, notebooks, candy lips, and sticker packs) and tonevendor will be also be providing some special midnight treats.

we highly encourage you to: a) come dressed in your pajamas; b) bring your own mug for some complimentary “espresso”; and c) bring your own throw pillow to relax and lounge in a comfortable space around the shop while we will listen to the album in its entirety, beginning sharply at midnight. 💋

TWO IMPORTANT THINGS:

1) if you plan to attend PLEASE register at the Eventbrite page! EACH ATTENDEE MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY!

2) we are allowed to sell the album early at this party! if you plan to take the album home with you, PLEASE either contact us to let us know you would like to purchase one at the party in-person OR simply preorder the album on our website, and we will have it ready for you at the party!

We tested one of these at our annual RSD Summer Camp conference earlier this month and it sounded so good we had to get a stack for the shop! This is not your preteen’s suitcase record player. This sounds great, has a “real” (and interchangeable) cartridge, adjustable tracking force (essential!), Bluetooth, headphone jack, line out, and even more bells and whistles - all in a super compact ‘plug-n-play right outta the box’ setup. We’ll even throw in a few free records with your purchase!

Every record you see here is a quadraphonic pressing, and probably the cleanest NM collection we’ve ever acquired, some still sealed. Runs the gamut from jazz to classic rock to folk to soul to classical and on and on… if you’re interested, hit us up. We’re considering saving these for a specialized Whatnot auction, or maybe we’ll put em up online… but as always, our direct customers come first!!

Sister Imperator is now laid to rest, and we’ve maintained a sacred memorial to her this past week.

Many of you have already left trinkets for the dearly departed seestor.

Tomorrow is the last day to pay your respects and visit this very spot to see sister lying in state.

LISTENING PARTY ANNOUNCEMENT! 🤠

Tuesday August 20th at 4pm, we’ll be previewing “Whirlwind” - the brand new album from Lainey Wilson- in its entirety. All attendees will get a poster, and the first 20 attendees will receive a bumper sticker or a koozie, PLUS we’ll have two different prizes to give away: 4”x4” license plates and a SIGNED double 7” single!! These are the coolest giveaways yet of any listening party!
