I think it's important that we recognize that your space isn't always going to be picture-perfect. Closets are a huge piece of how your rooms and homes function. Having a well organized closet can make your rooms and home function so much better. No more shoving things in the closets to keep the main areas clear. Give everything a home and make sure closets aren't being overlooked in your home organizing journey.

It's that time again. Before long, we will be back into the hustle and bustle of our morning school routines. Whether your kids are preschool or middle school, a morning checklist can be really helpful in keeping the kids (and us) organized and on time getting out the door.

Also, make sure you have good systems and habits in place. We encourage you to do most of the prep the evening before school.
1. Pack lunches
2. Set out outfits
3. Make sure shoes are by the door
4. Make sure backpacks have everything needed for class and are near the door.
5. Water bottle filled in the fridge with the packed lunch ready to go.

Having this ready the night before makes the mornings so much easier. This prep the evening before allows less room for things to come up so you are less likely to miss the bus or not make it to school on time. This also reduces the chances of kids needing something brought to them at school.

Today, we got all of our school supplies together and ready to go. I'm going to jump on my soapbox for a sec.

Can we please normalize reusing supplies in good condition. It's less about the actual cost of the supplies and more about consumerism, environmental impact, and the BIG one is making sure these old school supplies that got sent home at the end of the year last year aren't piling up in your home!

This year, we were able to reuse binders (these were replaced part way through the year last year, so still in great condition), scissors, pencil sharpeners, plastic folders, spiral notebooks (man most of these notebooks had less than 10 pages used so I tore those pages out and poof...looks brand new), highlighters, crayons (guess what...they still color!).

There are so many things that can pile up in our home that we simply don't need or no longer have a use for. Can you recall the last time "it" was used? If not, then it might be time to let it go. You can donate, sell, recycle, or trash it. If you aren't using it, then why not pass it on to someone who will? Keep in mind the return on your investment if you decide to sell the item. Sometimes selling isn't worth the return on your investment once you factor in your time and energy on selling and what you will get back in $$. Just remember your time is valuable too, so if that's the case, don't feel bad about donating it even if it feels hard.

When your home is cluttered, cleaning your home thoroughly can become difficult. A study conducted by the National Soap and Detergent Association found that homes with high levels of clutter tend to have higher levels of allergens, including dust mites and pet dander, which can trigger allergies and respiratory issues.

'We often find ourselves paying to store belongings that we anticipate using in the future or sorting through at some point. Renting a storage unit can become a costly way to keep items that would likely be more beneficial if sold or given away.'

This closet was a declutter and organize project in conjunction with the bedroom. This is a project that we didn't use any product for.
