St. Patrick Parish
St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Charles, Illinois. We exist to make Jesus first in the lives of our community. Dan Deutsch (pastor), Fr.
We believe that Jesus is the deepest desire of every person and so we want to help awaken this desire for each and every person that walks through our doors. Patrick Parish is located in the Diocese of Rockford and is served by our priests Msgr. John Kladar (parochial vicar), and Fr. Jack Reichardt (parochial vicar).
With Christmas fast approaching, we are delighted to invite you to join us for this year's Advent Parish Mission! The one-night mission is this Monday, December 11th, at 6:30 PM and will be led by our former Associate and good friend, Fr. Kladar. During the mission, Fr. Kladar will talk about the story and significance of the Nativity Scenes that we use to decorate our homes at Christmas and how these scenes can help us draw closer to the Eucharist. We look forward to seeing you there!
This weekend, our priests started a new teaching section during Sunday Masses. Every other week, the priests will take a few moments to explain a new part of the Mass, that all in attendance may better understand and participate in the beautiful of the Mass. To start, this weekend we learned about the Sign of the Cross.
_____
THE SIGN OF THE CROSS:
The Priest makes the Sign of the Cross, together with the community, to begin the Mass. The Sign of the Cross prepares our hearts for the Eucharistic celebration, for this community celebration. When we make the Sign of the Cross, therefore, we not only commemorate our Baptism, but affirm that the Liturgical prayers to follow are an encounter with God, in Jesus Christ, who became flesh, died on the Cross, and rose in glory for us.
And with that, the Church is lite up for the Season! What a fun and festive night at the Parish! Stay tuned tomorrow for more pictures and videos from last night's School Christmas Concert!
Tree lighting and school Christmas concert.
We'd love for you to join us for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8th. This day is also a Holy Day of Obligation. Through this great feast, we have the ability to draw closer to our Lady in a new way. Please join us in celebrating this special day at one of the Masses listed below.
** Due to a slight scheduling conflict, please note that the 6 PM Mass in Spanish will be shorter to allow an easy transition between the 6 PM Mass and 7 PM Mass. For those wishing to attend the Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena, it will now be held before the 6 PM Mass in the Fr. Carse Center. Thank you for your consideration!

A special thanks goes to our amazing Women at the Well leaders, who put this event together and to our very own Chef Mary Gorski and her team of volunteers for their amazing work on dinner!

Before the craziness and the hustle and bustle of this fun, family-filled day, Thanksgiving Mass allows us the opportunity to say "Thank You" to the One who has bestowed so many gifts in our lives. Many have made Thanksgiving morning Mass a yearly tradition in their families, a moment to look back at the year of blessings and give honor to God.
In addition to Mass, this time allows us to give back. If you'd like, we will be accepting non-perishable food donations at the 9 AM Mass. These donations can be placed at the foot of the altar at the beginning of Mass where they will be blessed. After Mass, St. Vincent de Paul will distribute these goods to those in need in our community. Hope to see you there!

Our Story
St. Patrick’s was founded in 1851 and has always been a community of growth. St. Patrick’s founded a school, as well as, founding St. John Neumann Parish in 1977.
In the late 1980s, the City of St. Charles had a surge of people moving west into the suburbs and with it, an overflow of new people to the parish. Every service was packed, often with standing room only. St. Patrick’s became integral to St. Charles; belonging to the parish became the identity of the community.
Under Msgr. Dempsey in the late 1980s, the need for another church building on the western side of the parish area was realized. St. Patrick’s expanded in 1991 with a second church in the “country.”
The parish community grew in 2009 and 2011 with Msgr. Linster to include two church buildings, two school buildings, parish office building, Hispanic Ministry offices, a convent, and rectory.
