Clinical quality control monitors more than just assays and instruments. QC challenges the entire diagnostic process, from sample handling to target detection. That’s why optimal quality controls are designed to be handled like patient samples—without adding the hassles of maintenance and susceptibility to inaccuracy that come with using actual patient samples for control materials.
Tired of maintaining difficult environmental isolate strains for microbiological challenge testing? We’ve got the solution! When it comes to fastidious organisms like 𝘙𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘪, Microbiologics brings unmatched experience in developing, quantitating and producing test-ready microbial controls. Some strains are frustrating. Your QC testing doesn’t have to be. https://bit.ly/3x6BzZ9
When it comes to clinical QC, anything less than IVD may bring unnecessary risks or add extra steps to fulfill the requirements of quality control. The IVD label represents the highest levels of reliability. Find the right IVD controls for your assays on our website. https://bit.ly/44pHpmi

The FDA recently published an update to the Bacteriological Analytical Manual (BAM) Chapter 5 for 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢. The update added a 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 screening section (Section D) to include generic LAMP and qPCR protocols, which references Microbiologics UV-BioTAG™ control strains as Suggested Quality Control Cultures.
UV-BioTAG is our line of Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) marked microbial control strains which visibly fluoresce under ultraviolet (UV) light, making them easily distinguishable from naturally occurring microflora. Compatible with traditional and rapid detection methods, our UV-BioTAG controls provide a quick, easy and reliable solution for routine QC testing. In addition to the BAM suggested 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 QC strains, we offer UV-BioTAG for QC testing of Shiga Toxin-Producing 𝘌𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘪 (STEC), 𝘓𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢 and more.

The CDC and other organizations recognize July as Group B Strep Awareness Month. Though usually asymptomatic for most adults, GBS is a leading cause of life-threatening illness in newborns, including sepsis, meningitis, and pneumonia. Intrapartum screening plays a critical role in preventing transmission to neonates during delivery. Learn GBS testing best practices at the Microbiologics blog.

Last week was a whirlwind of development and inspiration for Microbiologics!
We were happy to attend the Granite Days 2024 event, where this year’s theme, Digital Innovations, highlighted cutting-edge digital tools. These innovations are set to bring immense value to our workstreams across the organization.
In addition, we celebrated the culmination of our year-long Leaders Developing Leaders program with a Capstone event. Led by our executive leadership team, this program covered essential topics such as courageous conversations, emotional intelligence, and navigating change in the workplace.
We also hosted a summit for Microbiologics’ scientific leaders from across all our locations to collaborate, share knowledge, and strategize together. We were honored to have Tracy Hodel, Public Services Director at the City of St. Cloud, as a keynote speaker. Tracy shared insights about the innovative biofuel recovery program the St. Cloud Water Treatment Facility utilizes to convert organic wastes to renewable energy with the help of anaerobic microbial digesters.
These events have inspired and equipped us with new strategies and ideas to continue driving our mission forward.
