Life can be tough, and sometimes, we feel overwhelmed. Itβs important to remember that itβs okay to not be okay. π
Mental health is just as important as physical health, and acknowledging our struggles is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether youβre battling anxiety, depression or just feeling off, know that youβre not alone.
Reach out, talk to someone, and take small steps towards healing. Every step counts. Letβs break the stigma together and create a world where everyone feels safe to express how they truly feel. πβ¨
π Back to School, Back to Mental Health! π
As kids head back to school, it's important to remember that their mental health is just as crucial as their academic success. Transitioning from summer break to the classroom can bring excitement but also anxiety and stress.
Here are some tips to help your child thrive:
1. πΆπππ πͺππππππππππππ: Encourage them to share their feelings about the new school year.
2. πΉππππππ & π©ππππππ: A consistent schedule helps manage stress, but make sure they have time for fun and relaxation too.
3. π΄πππ
πππππππ & πΊπππ-πͺπππ: Teach them simple mindfulness techniques to stay grounded during the day.
4. πΊπππ πΊππππππ: If your child seems overwhelmed, donβt hesitate to reach out to a counselor or mental health professional.
Letβs work together to make this school year a positive experience for our kids, both in and out of the classroom! πͺ
π£August is Overdose Awareness Monthπ£βa crucial time to recognize the signs of an overdose, such as confusion, difficulty breathing, or loss of consciousness. Taking swift action can save a lifeβyours or a loved one's.
Opioid use, especially in combination with other substances or at high doses, significantly increases the risk of overdose. Stay vigilant, stay informed and prioritize your well-being. If you're facing stress or mental health challenges, remember the importance of self-care. Healthy coping mechanisms like exercise, mindfulness and talking to a friend or counselor can make a world of difference.π
If you or someone you know is struggling, don't hesitate to seek help. Weβre here for youβASK FOR HELP. We also offer free Narcan to those in need because saving lives is our priority.
Thrilled to have partnered with Youth Alliance during Substance Use Prevention Week at our FGC Behavioral Health Urgent Care!π€

We were thrilled to have our very own Eric Stone, Peer Support Specialist, share his powerful story with the amazing students at Youth Alliance during their Substance Use Prevention Week. Ericβs journey is a testament to resilience and the importance of making positive choices.
Through his experience, students learned about the real impact of drugs and alcohol on their lives, the importance of setting personal boundaries, navigating peer pressure and how to build a strong support system. We are proud to partner with Youth Alliance to empower our youth with the tools they need to lead healthy, successful lives.
Thank you, Youth Alliance, for inviting us to be a part of this meaningful event! π±β¨
Spirituality can be an important part of recovery from substance misuse, trauma or mental illness. For those in our communities who believe in a higher power outside of themselves or who participate in a religious tradition, we encourage you to continue to use your individual faith beliefs as a support. And if you are in need of therapy services, we hope you are comfortable sharing what your faith beliefs are with us so that we can better support you on your journey. ππ©΅π
