Responsibilities

• Review Banquet Event Orders at the beginning of each shift to ensure the room is set up as contracted.
• Assist with setting up tables and chairs; prepare room by adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperatures as needed before guests arrive.
• Understand and communicate products and service available.
• Greet all guests warmly and ensure guests are satisfied with their experience.
• Ensure that events are on time and service is efficient.
• Direct and supervise servers.
• Handle customer concerns or complaints promptly and tactfully.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all areas.
• Have rooms ready for any possible site inspections if there are no upcoming events.
• Keep inventory of and ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of all audio/visual and banquet room equipment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the hospitality industry, especially banquet or restaurant experience preferred, but not required.
• High school diploma
• Ability to prioritize and handle multi-tasking.
• Will stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs; occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.

Working in hotel maintenance, you are responsible for keeping the hotel maintained and fixing any errors that are needed. This can include repairing holes in walls, changing settings on cooling and heating equipment, putting new light bulbs in the hotel's outdoor lamps. Other hotel maintenance duties and responsibilities include repainting walls, fixing broken furniture, fixing minor electrical issues and making faucets stop leaking. You can expect physically demanding work that includes using tools and equipment and moving around much of the day, including having to climb ladders, lift heavy items and crawl in tight spaces when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

Pre-Event Duties

• Ensure that all facilities are set up according to the master BEO (Banquet Event Order) with energy efficiency, cleanliness, spacing, and impeccable presentation in mind.
• Read, comprehend, and create a plan based on the BEO and in turn be able to explain it to a team of servers.
• Conduct a staff meeting to ensure an understanding of any allergens, or dietary restrictions. Outline the schedule of the banquet, and delegate assignments based on staff strengths and weaknesses.
• Communicate with the Event Manager, Executive Chef, and the Host regarding last minute changes.
• Perform a final check of the facility, making sure there are no imperfections such as smudges on glasses or flatware.

Administrative Duties

• Assist in creating staff schedules.
• Attend all BEO meetings with Executive Chef and Event Manager.
• Manage the training of new servers, and retraining of existing servers when necessary.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• Minimum two years of experience as Lead Server or Captain, and at least a year of experience in banquets.
• Reliable transportation is required, the Lead Banquet Server is essential to the success of a function.
• Up to date Food Handler’s Certification, and a deep understanding of Alcohol Safety is preferred.
• Maintain good personal hygiene with a professional appearance, having a consistently clean, unwrinkled uniform.
• Must have schedule flexibility and be able to work weekends, nights, overtime, and holidays as needed or as scheduled.
• A proven ability in managing a team of up to 10 servers.
• Bartending experience is preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 30lbs or more.
• Ability to remain standing or walking for up to 6 hours or more.
• Must be detail-oriented, as you will need to be able to quickly scan tables for soiled plates, flatware, or glasses.
• Must be able to withstand a certain degree of heat, whether environmental such as from capacity, or regarding dishes/hotel pans.
• Must be able to withstand loud noises such as wedding DJ’s or simply a generally loud party atmosphere.
• Must be able to work in tight spaces, such as maneuvering around guest tables or a packed dance floor.
