Walk-in registration is for all students–incoming freshmen as well as transfer, returning and non-traditional students–who have not yet registered for the semester that starts Monday, Aug. 26.

The building formerly known as the Convergent Technology Alliance Center (CTAC) will be known as the Houlne Center for Convergent Technology, in honor of Tim Houlne, an entrepreneur, author and visionary in the field of artificial intelligence.

Houlne graduated from Missouri Western in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance and Management. He committed $3 million to the Center’s Project Fund, which will help support the Center’s launch and ongoing programs. It’s the third largest outright gift in Missouri Western’s history.

Dr. Kennedy drew the winner of the $1,000 scholarship at the St. Joseph Mustangs game Saturday night. Our winner wasn't able to attend but Dr. Kennedy was able to present the certificate to the winner's mother.

Who’s ready for the Red Rally next Saturday, July 27! This year’s event is going to be full of entertainment for everyone in the crowd to enjoy starting at 1pm. Local country singer Hailey Hatley will kick things off, along with popular Kansas City radio personalities taking the stage. Country music singer/songwriter Blane Howard is back at the Rally again to get the crowd pumped. Then, calling all Swifties, Sparks Fly - The T Swift Experience will take the stage. Starting at 5:20pm, KC Rumble Drumline, Shawn Barber and KC Wolf will fire up the crowd as Blane Howard returns to the stage to close out the evening with his Chiefs-themed songs. President Kennedy spoke with the young leaders of Madam President Camp this week. The group discussed the importance of education and how it can help propel individuals to success.

Madam President Camp was founded in Kansas City in 2012, to give girls an opportunity to gain confidence and leadership skills in an interactive camp experience. Local volunteers and guest speakers facilitated sessions and activities focused on leadership, civic engagement, activism, communication and self-discovery. Several Missouri Western students served as mentors to the youth during the camp.
