Last night at Belt Branch the CreateSpace was full as Shelly Haynes, St. Joseph Museums, presented "Butterflies and Moths". Participants learned how to identify families of butterflies and caterpillars in Missouri, got interesting facts about local varieties, and practiced some scientific names for those highlighted. Kids and adults folded origami butterflies and created butterfly luminaries to light up their homes - with flameless candles, of course! Missed the program? It will be offered again at Savannah Branch on August 27, 5:30pm, and registration is currently open.
Cool weather is in the forecast for next week, so come on out for another evening of local musical and literary talent.

All ages had fun seeing the variety of animals, which, of course, enjoyed being fed by the crowd. This was the Belt's last big Monday event of the Summer Reading Program.
