We had a blast with your kiddos this summer at our STEAM Camps. While we’ve wrapped up the last week of summer camp, don’t worry! EmpowerU offers after-school programs throughout the school year, so your kids can still join the fun. 🙌 Mosaic Life Care Foundation’s STEAM After-School enrichment programs are designed to create and develop an interest in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. All sessions feature hands-on activities led by trained facilitators. Participants may design, build and program LEGO robots, learn to code animated characters and games, and explore Virtual Reality. We’re looking forward to more fun this upcoming school year!

As we near the inspireU grand opening, we have kicked off the “Join the Build” campaign. We are honored by many community members who have asked to support the build. Anyone who would like to partner with us as we place the finishing touches to this state-of-the-art discovery center is invited to invest in the discovery center.
Each of the 21 core exhibits have been tailored to interpret the traditions and values of St. Joseph and our region. Every experience at inspireU encourages growth of well-rounded young families by creating a culture of physical and mental wellness for children, their families, and their community.
inspireU will be a major tourist attraction, bringing thousands of visitors to local commerce year after year. “Join the Build” to invest in this brilliant discovery center and to invest in the future health of our region. 🌟

Meet this week’s featured Volunteer, Addie Vertin! 😊
Addie has dedicated almost 1500 hours of service in various volunteer roles. Addie’s most recent assignment is assisting the Spiritual Health Memorial Service team in preparing for services, greeting attendees, and sounding the chime during the reading of names. Dan Mefford, Manager says, “she is amazing”! We all agree! Thank you, Addie for being there for our patient families at such tender time.
Ever wonder how we came up with our name, ‘InspireU’? Discovery Center Committee Chair and Foundation Board Member Andrea Robinson says the name builds off of another foundation project in EmpowerU.
"That is with kids from about 12 up, so as a precursor to this we wanted to tie in the U idea," Robinson explains. "But we fully believe that kids will be inspired by what they see inside, they will be literally moved to grow and learn and hands on play, it's just going to be quite an inspiring location for both children and their families." We can’t wait to open our doors to you!
Congratulations to this year’s MLC Auxiliary scholarship recipients! Each recipient has been a Mosaic student volunteer and received $1,500 towards their academic studies. Wishing all students a wonderful new school year! 😊
These young men are exploring the wonders of science and technology at EmpowerU’s STEAM camp, where learning is an adventure and the fun never ends! 🚀🔬
We love when our retirees choose to return as volunteers!
Our newest volunteer, Leasa Sego, previously worked as a Lab Technician at the Cancer Center. Now Leasa comes in every Tuesday morning to organize and restock the Cancer Center boutique and assist caregivers with a variety of duties. Leasa shared that she loves the people she worked with and wanted to continue to serve. Volunteering is a wonderful way to stay connected and involved! It also provides a purpose for those seeking a meaningful contribution.
Welcome back, Leasa, and thank you for your continued service. 😊
Immense gratitude to the incredible young college students who have dedicated their summer to volunteering with Mosaic Life Care! Your passion, energy, and commitment have made a lasting impact on our community. Thank you for being the change-makers and inspiring us all! 🙌🏼
A “HeARTfelt” thank you to the Flowers family for their kindness, dedication, and support of the Volunteer Services, Healing HeARTS program!
Volunteer Angie Flowers set a goal of making 100 hats for 100 babies (she exceeded her goal by 1) and donated them to Healing HeARTS for the maternity department. Her husband, Mike Flowers, lovingly read to Angie while she knitted each hat. “That’s a lot of books,” Mike added. 😊 Angie along with her daughter, Charis, a Guest Relations caregiver, also knits eye glass cases for patients in Outpatient Surgery that did not bring one from home. Mike stated that “Charis is one apple that didn’t fall far from the tree.” Charis continues to knit hats for the Mosaic Life Care Auxiliary Trees of Warmth program. She is currently working to meet her 100-hat goal.
Join us in celebrating and thanking the Flowers family for their service and generosity!

What are you looking forward to most about InspireU?
Four Lafayette High School students, Drake Losson, Carter Hewitt, Ethan Zeit, and Jake McQuiston, organized a heartfelt golf tournament that recently took place at Fairview Golf Course. This tournament was held to honor the memory of a close friend’s mother who had passed away. As part of their high school business course final, they were tasked with organizing an event that would benefit the community. This tournament was a beautiful way to honor their friend’s mother and positively impact the community. The tournament featured an impressive 19 teams with great success! The funds raised were generously donated to the family and to the Mosaic Life Care Auxiliary Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund, which aids patients with healthcare-related expenses. Their tremendous efforts reflect the spirit of community and compassion. We are grateful for the hearts, actions, and example of these young men! ⛳️
Thank you, Atha Bros. Seed/Chemical/Fertilizer for your generous support and commitment to inspiring the next generation! ✨
We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Atha Brothers Ag for their generous donation to InspireU. This substantial contribution will play a pivotal role in bringing our new farm exhibit to life at the Children’s Discovery Center, creating enriching experiences for young minds. Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to inspiring the next generation, 🚜🌾
