We are proud and excited to now serve Mní Sapa coffee!
Mní Sapa Roasting Co. is a Native American Owned & Operated Coffee Roasting Company that is committed to providing high quality, sustainably sourced coffee. Organic & Fair Trade.
The idea of Mní Sapa began during the winter, where the owners talked about the fact that it is not always easy to find a good cup of coffee at a pow wow. Both of the owners are Plains Indians (Lakota enrolled & Blackfoot descendant), hence the name of the Medium Roast, Makóce (Plains) Blend. “We intend to provide quality coffee to community which in turn allows us to focus some of our time on community and cultural work.”
One of the owners is also Mexican and has ties to Huichol and Aztec ceremony community down in Mexico and has worked with people who process coffee with bike blenders-they intentionally rode there in 2012 to work on bicimaquinas (bike machines), food and land projects across Mexico.
The owners were intrigued with the art of roasting a medicine that is special to them and decided to learn the process. The result of that was some real good coffee! “We roast each bag individually and put a lot of care and intention into our beans. Pilamaya!”
Thank you to our community partner Blue Hummingbird Woman for connecting us! And yes, we will still be serving coffee from Spirit Mountain Roasting Co.
