In 24 hours, we’ll be heading to the Charles M Schulz - Highland Arena for our Have a Nice Day All-Stars Tournament.
But before then, we have one more league to introduce you to!

Our friends from the western half of the Twin Citites - North Star Roller Derby - are bringing their A-team: the Supernovas.
Based in Minneapolis, this member-run nonprofit started rolling in 2006!

NSRD will help us kick off the tournament tomorrow night at 5:00pm when they face off against our Minnesota Nice 🛼💥

Today we’re introducing Grand Raggidy Roller Derby, one of several leagues bringing their best-of-the-best to compete in our 3-day event.

Founded in 2005, GRRD hails from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is a fellow founding member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA)!

Grand Raggidy will play their first game at HaND on Saturday, August 3rd, against Denver Roller Derby’s Bruising Altitude.

DRD is sending two teams to HaND: The Standbys, their C-Team, and Bruising Altitude, their B-Team.

Founded in 2005, Denver Roller Derby is a skater-owned and operated league and recognized as a nonprofit.

Minnesota Mean Release Date Set, Watch Exclusive Clip for Sports Documentary ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive clip from Minnesota Mean, a roller derby sports documentary that has just been given a release date.

A good sign that summer is here, is a garage sale sign on the block.

Stop by MNRD’s All-Stars fundraiser sale this weekend!
Proceeds will help our skaters with travel costs so they can keep playing high-level derby across the country.

You’ll find a variety of clothing, kitchen and household items, craft supplies, tools, kids toys, games, and more!

The sale runs on Friday from 12pm-5pm and Saturday from 8am-4pm at 4917 38th Ave S. in Minneapolis.

Our All-Stars are back in the Midwest after a weekend of tearing up the track in the North East!

Minnesota Nice took on CT Roller Derby Saturday evening. While we didn’t take the W, it sure was a great bout. Ending with a score of 194 for CT and 99 for MN.

Then on Sunday, our skaters faced Boston Roller Derby’s B-Team in a bout of closely matched skills. Boston edged out a score of 123 to MN Nice’s 116.

A big thank you to our hosts this weekend. We had a blast and learned so much!

Our Minnesota Nice is crashing the east coast this weekend! 🤩

Our All-Stars B-team will face off against CT Roller Derby All-Stars this evening, followed by a bout against Boston Roller Derby’s B-team tomorrow.

Let’s wish our MN Nice skaters good luck. We’ll be cheering loud back home in the Midwest! 🎉🩵

Our All-Stars are returning to the Land of 10,000 Lakes after leaving it all on the track at the WFTDA North America—Northeast Regional Championships!

Day 1 brought a victory against the Montreal Sexpos with MNRD scoring 230 to the Sexpos 95.

Day 2 may not have been a W, but the All-Stars fought ferociously for their 97 points to Gotham Roller Derby’s 148.

And finally, the intensity and evenly matched skills between our All-Stars and Boston Roller Derby’s A-Team was a nail biter to the very last jam. MNRD ended the game with 113 hard-earned points to Boston’s 132.

A big thanks to our tournament hosts, State College Area Roller Derby, for an exciting weekend of high-level roller derby!

Congrats to our All-Stars on their accomplishments and excellent gameplay. Our league could not be more proud!

WFTDA Regional Playoffs called. They want our refs 😏

Class Warfarin, Spike, and Joss have been selected to officiate this year’s North American Regional Playoffs! Class Warfarin and Spike will officiate for the Northeast region while Joss officiates playoffs in the Western and Southern regions. Get to know the zebras behind the stripes.

Spike has been making tough calls look easy since MNRD’s second season. He’s been skating since he was a kid and is proud that everyone from his Cactus Cup officiating crew made it to regionals.

Full-time official, part-time silly goose, Class Warfarin has been callin’ it like they see it with MNRD since 2019. They are proud of the trans/enby representation they bring to officiating and to (impartially) represent MNRD’s officiating legacy.

Keepin’ it fair and square on MNRD’s track since 2014, Joss started as an NSO before taking up skating shortly thereafter. This is his third trip to playoffs, and when he’s not dishing out penalties, you can find him strolling through the garden center.

Let’s give them a round of applause for their dedication and achievement! 👏

Many thanks to California Derby Galaxy and Arch Rival Roller Derby Nemesis for joining us on Saturday night! Arch Nemesis took home the win in the first game of the night against the Minnesota Nice, followed by a win for the Minnesota All-Stars against California Derby Galaxy.
