I made this to show the areas of the brain that are affected by trauma and neglect. I love the metaphor of embellishment and embroidery for this…It’s nurturing. It’s the same conceptually as kintsugi; instead of considering pottery broken, the imperfection is embraced with gold leaf, integrated as a part of the piece and treated as an enhancement to its value and beauty.
