We enjoyed some exercise, reading, and relaxation today. Several residents opened a Sports Memory Kit to find a ton of baseball cards, some sports magazines, and other related objects. The best part was the wall hanging picturing the changes to our Cardinals bird over the years! We ended our activities with some Sports Bingo and chocolate!

In our first installment of Seniors and Science, we tried a fun experiment today. Although our colors didn’t turn out quite as vibrant as in the video, it brought up good conversation about precipitation and how clouds work. Perfect discussion for a snowy SPRING day! Happy Birthday to Grace, who celebrated her b-day on Tuesday!! Thanks to Ashley and Becca for making it special!
This week we had a magazine scavenger hunt, Balance Academy exercises, and we began some planting of veggies amd flowers. Thanks to Ruth and Phyllis for the gardening tips!
On Thursday, Community Loving Care Hospice came to bring us some super fun horse racing. Then, we played some Yahtzee.
I’ve added some good shots of Rosemary showing her Easter cards and beautiful cross.
Finally, today, many of us took advantage of Pajama Day and are staying comfy all day!

We had a fun little visitor this week named Weston, and some of us took a bus trip to St . Charles to see the sites and visit the candy store. Thanks to Sugar Cubed for being so kind!! We even saw a coyote on the way home!

Residents had a good week! We did yoga and Balance Academy, wrote to pen pals, reminisced with some antiques, got some fresh air, created some art, heard Ruth share about her trip, watched church, and prayed. Enjoy some pictures of us in action!

We enjoyed a wonderful performance yesterday on National Barber Shop Quartet Day.
Sound Factory, featuring Marcus, Alex, David, and Austin, entertained everyone with amazing harmony and showmanship. They are part of a larger group that many of us know as the Ambassadors of Harmony.

I’m excited to announce the winner of our Jelly Bean Jar guess raffle is Samantha, with a guess of 964 jelly beans! There was 1050 jelly beans in that jar! Thank you all for participating and supporting the Alzheimer’s Association!!

Here are some shots of us exercising, getting manicures, and spending time outside. We played some Bingo and did some pompoms while watching some talented collegiate athletes dance. We also got a special visit from Assistance Dogs. Thank you to Martha and Janie for bringing Hugo and Zoe to play with us!!

We also did some gratitude meditation with Susie from Yoga Voyager LLC. Relaxing!!

What a difference family makes!!!
Our Easter Egg Hunt was a huge success, with many families coming out to join in the fun. Thank you to the Easter Bunny for hiding all of those eggs!! Our residents were thrilled to be with family, to see the little ones, and to experience the love of our Chestnut family!!!
