Good afternoon GBEMS Families!

It’s that time again!! We are so excited to start the new school year with all of our FIN-tastic families! Here are a few reminders to get us started!

Open House/Meet the Teacher is this Saturday 8/10 from 10am to 12pm. There are 2 sessions, the first begins at 10am and the second begins at 11am. Please choose the session that best suites you. Families with more than one student please utilize the sessions to be able to get to each of your children’s classrooms. The class lists will be posted on our Front Office windows. Please bring your child’s school supplies to Open House so they don’t have to carry it on the first day. Our amazing PTA will be on campus to introduce themselves and answer any kind of questions you may have from memberships to spirit wear. They will also be doing a uniform swap! The YMCA will also be on campus to answer any kind of before and/or after school care questions.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!!

Hello families,

Just a few reminders as we prepare for the first day of school tomorrow, Wednesday 8/10.

The campus opens for arrival at 8:15 am.

Families may walk their child(ren) to their classroom doorway for drop off. Our PTA will be sponsoring a Boo-Hoo Ya-Hoo Breakfast in the cafeteria during the morning arrival, all families are welcome to stop by.

Please make sure that you have communicated to your child’s teacher how your child(ren) will be dismissed (car circle, bus circle, walkers gate, etc) and update as changes in the dismissal routine may occur.

Traffic Patterns around the School:
•Car circle- be sure to follow the established directional flow for student drop off/pickup. (Please see the school webpage for visual direction)
•2:35 pm is the earliest that the carline may form (City of St Pete Beach posted ordnance)
• ”Be Courteous” and exercise patience at all times by avoiding cutting into the carline and joining the car cue from the rear only.
• Vehicles may not block neighbor’s driveways or cross walks.
• Be aware of pedestrians at all times
• Law Enforcement will be monitoring traffic for expected compliance.

Walker’s Gate:
•Please gather near the crossing guards on the south side of 85th ave.
• If parking, please be sure to do so in a responsible manner avoiding grassy areas and blocking drives
• In the event of rain or severe weather, the students will be dismissed from the gate nearest the cafeteria at the front of the school

Just a quick reminder that we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, Saturday August 6th, starting at 10am. For our annual Welcome Back & Open House Event.

There will be two classroom visitation opportunities: 1st rotation 10:15 to 11:00am & 2nd rotation 11:15 to 11:45 am. (Need only to attend one rotation per teacher).

Student Class Lists are now posted on the Front Office Windows for your child’s teacher assignment.

Wednesday, May 18 @ 9:00 A.M. is our Volunteer Breakfast. Please be sure to sign up on the Sign Up Genius.

Attention 4th, and 5th Grade families as a reminder the window to test students for ELA and Mathematics FSA ends this Friday May 13th. Please know that testing takes priority over all school events and functions. What that means is that Friday is a designated testing makeup day, so if your child has missed any testing and they will be in school on Friday they will need to do their makeup test before they can participate in any field day activities. Again testing takes precedence over all other events at school. Thank you for understanding and for your help with explaining this to your child.

Good morning Gulf Beaches Elementary School families. This is Principal Robert Kalach with an important message. Our campus briefly closed to outside visitors this morning due to police activity in the area. Although the activity was unrelated to our campus, in an abundance of caution local law enforcement responded. Students are safe and we continue the school day without incident. Rainy Day Dismissal 04/07/22

HURRY, Fish Broil orders are due this Friday, April 8. Food orders went out last week, PLEASE stop by the office IF you need another.

It's almost time for our Fish Broil Carnival, which will be right here on our GBEMS campus on Saturday, April 23, from 4 to 7 p.m.!



We'll be grilling fish, chicken and hot dogs and serving them up with sides, and will have all the makings of an old-school carnival -- games, inflatables, music, vendors, sweet treats and more! All in the safe and familiar environment of our school campus.

All are welcome -- our school families, your extended families, neighbors and community friends!



A couple of important notes:

- T-shirt orders must be in by THIS Friday, April 8 -- these shirts are approved for Friday Spirit days

- We strongly encourage food orders by this Friday, April 8, as well to help get the right amount of supplies

- Unlimited bounce wristbands and tickets for games, bouncing, treats, glitter tattoos, etc. will be available up to the week of the event, as well as at the event

5th Grade Parents: BIG change of plan. The weather had broken and the group is staying for their lunch picnic. We are expecting them back now around 5 PM.
