Journal Special Operations Medicine (JSOM) OMNA Marine Tourniquet Application Study (Fall 2020) :
540 applications were effective.
Occlusion pressures were 348mmHg (275–521mmHg) for combined thighs and 285mmHg (211– 372mmHg) for arms. Completion pressures were 414mmHg (320–588mmHg) for combined thighs and 344mmHg (261– 404mmHg) for arms.
Conclusions: The OMNA Marine Tourniquet can be self-applied effectively, including one-handed applications.

A near miss with a teethy boy today, happy to have all 10 fingers. Went down to video shoot a smaller Nassau grouper for dinner when I saw this 7 ft reef shark freight training towards him. I intervened and he decided to go for my face instead. Luckily I had him pinnedwhatsasharkweek with my polespear and was able to lift him over me. 🦈🔫
