How do you pronounce “balayage”?
Bali-age or baylee-age 🤷‍♀️

Either or, people sometimes get confused on more than just the name.
What’s the difference between balayage and highlights? We want you to know exactly what you’re getting when you ask for either!
Here’s the difference:

Highlights are when sections of hair are woven out and lightened from root to end. Giving it a brighter look all around. It’s a very traditional technique done with a spec price pattern.
Balayage is a stylist technique where hair is woven out in a special way to allow the color to get thicker towards the ends, giving it a more blended sun kissed look. It allows grow out to happen a bit more naturally and is super maintainable. It’s also much more customized to your hair, it’s like contouring your hair color!

Meet Maria!
Another one of our stylist here at Le Motive.

She has two daughters (two middle schoolers 😬). Maria and her boyfriend, Eddie have a dog copper ( 100lb Lab) and a cat named penny. She grew up with a big family, so when it comes to hair she has had lots of practice. She grew up cutting everyone’s hair including her own and six siblings. She has always had a passion for hair as long as she can remember. So, as her kids got older Maria decided to make hairdressing her career. Which was a little over 4 years now and loving every minute of it. Maria still bartends at a local restaurant but hopes to transition full time to hair here in the next year🤞🏼.
Maria specializes in men’s and women’s cuts, Blonding from highlights to balayage, hair treatments, and styling.
And her favorite Bumble & Bumble product is the texture spray!

Meet Taylor!

Born and raised in Oregon, she’s been married to her husband, Kyle, for 4 years now and they have a rambunctious little two year old boy who is their entire world.
Taylor found her passion for doing hair 7 years ago and feels like she hasn’t actually worked a single day since!
She’s an enneagram 2, loves helping others and so naturally her job has become more than making hair dreams come to life. She loves keeping up with the latest trends and personalizing then to fit each of her clients needs.
