cube organizers are a great closet organizer in children’s closets and adapt to different storage needs as kids grow!

this pantry used to be a deck 🤯 (swipe for the before). When building a pantry from scratch my number one advice would be to add countertops and outlets in the pantry for extra appliances 🤩

a few different examples of closet organization. clearly shoes and hats are popular items for my family 😅

the key to organizing deep pantries and cupboards is to use deep bins like these white baskets to easily pull out items in the back.

otherwise, we only add two new bins to contain linens and were able to use existing bins to store seasonal items that can be kept up higher.

sometimes not all of your like items fit in one space. I separate out my baking and spices from the rest of my food because it makes the most sense for the space I have.

the best part of this project? we only purchased one item for under $10 and had a lot of empty bins after getting rid of a two large SUVs full of stuff. it doesn’t always take a lot of products to make a big impact.

as you can see, shoe storage was the main priority for our closet. we have a total of 5 different shoe solutions in our closet to accommodate them all, but plenty of room to grow for clothes. I also included examples of how I store and fold different clothes in a dresser!

walk-in pantries are so great for storage, but can easily become overwhelming and difficult to maintain without bins and systems in place.

our garage is a great example of repurposed space. our house doesn’t have a dedicated laundry room/mudroom or enough space for a gym. so while it isn’t the most optimal, it’s what works for us. this also isn’t our forever home, so we didn’t want to invest a lot in custom shelving and storage solutions. so here’s an example of a garage on a budget. hopefully someday i’ll be sharing the dream garage on this space, too 🤞🏼✨

ruhme is rooted in the german word “ruhe” meaning peace and quiet, when nothing around you bothers you and you feel calm and good. in this context, applied to a room or space.
•
my goal with this account is to build a community and be a resource that inspires people to get organized. to help others implement solutions and encourage them to get rid of things that no longer serve a purpose. i’m a firm believer that organization requires living with less; creating systems that are accessible (based on budget, time to maintain, and physical space); and functional for its users. which is custom and looks different for everyone!
