“Muscle rebuilding is an important part of the body. It helps you move and stay healthy. A muscle has muscles attached to it called fibers. When you work out you break down these muscle fibers and if it doesn’t get enough nutrients, your muscles won’t recover and get stronger.
Muscles need time to recover. If you don’t properly rest then your muscles will not have a chance to grow. You will be more likely to get hurt and you won’t make any more progress towards your fitness goals. The recommended time for muscle recovery is 48-72 hours. This will depend on your body composition, diet, physical activity, and strength.
When someone workouts at a higher intensity, they will experience a higher amount of muscle damage than someone who works out at a lower intensity. If you have a higher muscle mass, then it may take longer to get the same results as someone with less muscle mass.” -fit19.com

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Megan Sevy
“I’ve been married to my hubby for 11 years, we live in Spanish Fork, and we have three amazing kiddos Nash, Navy, and Stockton!
My husband owns Quality Custom Homes and I help him run it while I’m at home with the kiddos!
I am also currently going to school online to finish my degree in education. In my free time I’m usually browsing Target with my favorite Swig drink, spending time with friends & family, baking something delicious, or working out with my girls at Uplift!
I found Uplift at the end of last summer on Instagram and immediately felt drawn to it! I showed my sister and best friend and told them “one day we should try this!”. All 3 of us started coming in September and have been coming for almost 6 months! I have gained so many new friends since joining and I look forward to coming everyday! I’ve seen such a change in myself not only physically but also mentally. I’m so glad to be part of this Uplift family! 🤍”

This snow is crazy! Stay safe out there! We do all we can to not cancel class, but when there is weather bad enough we are worried about the safety of you and our instructors, we will cancel class. For the early morning classes, we will try to post if they’re canceled 30 minutes before they start. Please check Instagram and/or your emails to see if your class has been canceled before you leave your house! We will refund any canceled classes. Thanks for your patience as we get through this beautiful, cold season!

Hi, I’m Monique-SueÂ
I love life! I am a happy mother and wife, loyal friend and a BUSY body. I am passionate in helping others (especially women) feel good and find the light in their own lives. I believe that when you FEEL and LOOK good, you embrace life with confidence.Â
I was born and raised in South Africa 🇿🇦. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Education at The University of South Africa, where I also completed my HIV/Aids Guidance Counseling Certification. I taught 1st grade prior to serving an LDS mission in England.Â
I moved to the USA 🇺🇸 in 2018 (shortly after marrying my penpal of MANY years - that’s a story for another time). I attended BYU-I where I completed my second Bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family studies. I have two beautiful children (my Irish twins).Â
We moved to Utah in 2022. We absolutely love it here.Â

A few fun facts: I love the outdoors -raising my children with that same love and appreciation is important to me, I am fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans, I don’t like soup, I was on the South African National Can-Can dance group many years ago, I enjoy baking cakes, I LOVE dressing up FULL GLAM (when I get a chance to), and I am afraid of the moon đź‘€.Â
I look forward to continue UPLIFTING and growing with the beautiful, strong and kind woman at UPLIFT. I have definitely found my home away from home.Â
Come try Strength Circuits class Thursdays at 6 am and Surge Strength Thursdays at 8 pm and the 1st/3rd/5th Saturdays at 8:30 am! We are so grateful to have her at Uplift!

Howdy, I am Laura! Born and raised in the heart of Texas: I lack the accent but make up for it with my hospitality. I am a mother to four brilliant little girls, a wife to my sweetheart of (almost) sixteen years, a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, and a movement fanatic. Any BRIGHT color is my favorite color, “limited edition” treats are my jam, and I believe in unconditional kindness.Â
We moved to Utah a little over two years ago where my love for Group Fitness has only grown. My background is in the Hospitality industry in Corporate Human Resources and I don’t think I could ever go to being in a place leggings and loud music aren’t allowed. I now own multiple Health + Wellness Certifications and Life Coach adolescents. Empowering others is my passion!
I’m excited to join the Uplift Community and build lasting friendships along the way.Â
