There is nothing better than freshly baked gluten-free banana bread. Yum!

The residents had a lot of fun on the 4th of July. They painted 3D stars, we had an ice cream truck come and then fireworks. We had to wait to do the fireworks until the next week, but they didn't mind. Having the Ice cream truck brought back lots of good memories. We plan on having it again soon.

The OTHER Preakness Horse race. The residents are LOVING these horse races. They all cheer on whichever horse they want to win. They start out each race with $2500 and bet on 3 horses in the first race. Some won big and some lost everything. Everyone was happy no matter what the outcome. We had some Black eyed Susan cupcakes, fruit and a peach,mango,orange drink with a maraschino cherry in if they wanted. Our in house cake decorator decorated the cupcakes for us. Thanks Mariah Jewkes. And a BIG THANK YOU to Rob for all his hard work on all these horse races. Stay tuned for the final race. The Belmont's OTHER Stakes horse race in July. We can't wait to see who wins the last race.

We got to try out our new Bowling lane. Residents were a little reluctant at first because they didn't think they would be able to Bowl from there chairs. It worked very well and they were excited to try and see they could actually do it. They had a lot of fun. A BIG THANK YOU to those who helped get it set up. They encouraged each other and gave positive feed back to each person. We also had a few staff participate but I didn't get pictures of them.

Spirit week. It was fun seeing what everyone was wearing. It's always fun during Spirit week. Residents never know what they are going to see staff in next. They loved all the different outfits. Some of them couldn't remember which day it was so they would guess what the theme for the day was.

Our Mothers Day Tea. Sorry no pictures of residents. I was busy helping residents. The residents painted all the vases for the center pieces. They did a GREAT job. They all enjoyed visiting and eating the refreshments.

What a fun time everyone had at our first Kentucky's OTHER Derby. There was a lot of laughter and cheering on everyone's horses. Thank you to the kitchen for making the cucumber sandwiches. They also had virgin Mint Julep to drink a long with some lemonade. A BIG THANK YOU to Rob for helping plan and being our Announcer. All the residents loved it. They are still talking about it the day after. Thank you to staff for reminding and getting residents their for this and for cheering on everyone's horses. It was a GREAT day. The residents painted the horses and picked which name they wanted. Thank you to Rob and Sandra for painting the track. The residents are already talking about when we will do it again.

Our Easter Party for the residents. They had a lot of fun going around picking up eggs filled with candy. They also got 1 shiny egg to turn in for a prize. They had lots of goodies and Root beer floats. They visited while eating lots of goodies. There were 236 plastic filled eggs and 25 shiny eggs.

Our Easter Bunny Visit. Residents love when the Easter Bunny comes to visit.

St. Patrick's day party fun. We had cupcakes, cookies, brownie bites and green shakes. They loved the punch game with candy, St. Patrick's day socks, beaded necklaces and bow ties. And a BIG THANK YOU to Tuxedo Man Rob Walker for some fun Irish songs. All the residents had a lot of fun.

The residents in had a lot of fun decorating and eating Sugar cookies. They also played a game that they had to punch the paper out of the cup to see what prize they got. There was chocolate, conversation hearts, mini pens and mini ding dongs in the cups. Some of them did it more than once. They really liked the game. The red cookies on the sticks were Oreos dipped in red chocolate. Most of the fruit also got eaten. Staff even came in and had some goodies.

Making Valentine's Day decorations. They got very creative putting 1 heart on top of another heart.

The Price is Right Game. It was a VERY BIG HIT. Thanks Rob for being our Bob Barker . All the residents had a GREAT time. They can't wait to do it again.
