An Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for much of western Oregon and forecasts call for temperatures near triple digits in parts of eastern Oregon.

🌡️🔥Forecast models are trending HOTTER later this week into this weekend. Many are now calling for dangerous heat, especially for the Willamette and other inland valleys. This includes the Portland/Vancouver, Salem, and Eugene metro areas.

This image shows the probability temperatures will reach 110°F Saturday afternoon. While this is still not the most likely outcome, chances of temps above 100°F have been steadily increasing. There is a non-zero chance that temperatures may approach those experienced in the June 2021 heat wave.

🕜 NOW is the time to think about how you will stay cool during this potentially dangerous heat wave. Inland temperatures will turn very hot by Friday. We all learned in June 2021 how deadly excessive heat can be.
