Who’s going to the Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival this weekend??? If you need any last-minute gear swing by Riverboat Works on your way!

The Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival, established in 2009, is a fundraiser for the community of Cañon City. Proceeds from the festival not only benefit groups and organizations that assist with the weekend’s festivities, but a proceeds also benefit the Royal Gorge RIO (formerly the Whitewater Kayak and Recreation Park or WKRP) organization. This grassroots, non-profit group supports the construction and river beautification project. Not only does the Royal Gorge RIO provide the perfect place to host the Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival, but it is also a tremendous asset to the community. Located in Centennial Park, the play waves provide focus point for river activities and a fun place to enjoy the Arkansas River.

On August 15h Protect Our Rivers will be returning to Salida for the 2nd Annual Arkansas River Cleanup! Join us on-water to float and pick up a 7 mile stretch from Salida East to Rincon. And after the cleanup we’ll celebrate at with BOGO beers and big giveaways!

Make your float fishing experience a little easier with a tornado anchor system. The Tornado Anchor is a new “spin” on anchor systems. Engineered to contour to the river bottom, the revolutionary design of the Tornado Anchor allows more surface-edge contact. This increase in contact area creates more uninterrupted drag, stopping your boat faster. We customize our raft frames to integrate the rope pulley system within the frame to limit exposed ropes on the river.
