A very dear client turned friend passed away recently. Joan Beller was a brilliant woman who lived a full and creative life, I will miss our lunches ♥️
Joan was an avid needlepoint artist, and she collected other inspiring textile artists, such as . These beautiful weavings hung in pride of place in her home, and we often discussed their beauty, workmanship, patterns, and use of color in the pieces.
I never expected to be gifted these pieces at her passing.
I'll miss you Joan, thanks for the memories ♥️

I had a most exceptional dinner the other night celebrating a BFFs bday at .
The food, cocktails, and service we're phenomenal. And while this can be a pricy meal, they have a great !

Alex of was our art guru. He hand sketched each of our pets, so we had an easy starting point. Fyi, he does parties!
There was a lot of talent in the room.

I had such a wonderful time last night at the "paint your pet" event for , which does much needed work helping the pets in South monterey Co and its rural areas.
I chose Trixie as my muse. It's not perfect, but it makes me happy.
It was held at , a way cool place, with way cool cars.

I've had 15 brides, and their various entourage go through final fittings and on to their weddings in the past 3 weeks.
Here are a peek at some in progress.

It's been a while since I've done hand bound button holes, and I think the finished product turned out pretty good.
This is one of those skills that takes practice, and to sewists out there that still do this work 👏 👏👏

It was such a pleasure driving down the Big Sur Coastline to my fave breakfest spot. , you never fail to fill me up with great food and wrap me in your warm, cozy embrace. I've missed you ♥️

Driving home from Carmel Valley last night, I had the unexpected pleasure of having " the grade" all to myself, and arriving at the top, I came out of the fog to see this beautiful sky. I felt honored to be given this gift, so I thought I'd share ♥️

I had a wonderful time last night at the "Sip and Shop" event at Corral de Tierra Country Club. I had just a quick chance to catch some pictures of some of my pieces.

I love beautiful textiles like this embroidered linen from in Paris. I have a show coming up in May, so I'm playing with the possibilities this fabric presents. Skirt, cropped pant, shift dress, top??????

It started with an idea, a lace table, and a bride wanting something a little different.

When my beautiful bride Liz came to me for a custom gown, she wasn't sure what she wanted, and she wasn't finding it ready made. As we talked and brainstormed, I was reminded of a beautiful lace tablecloth a friend found at the
.
I think the finished product speaks for itself.
This is part 1, in a 3 part story.

I live in the best neighborhood. I put out the call for cookie makers, and 7 women stepped up and created this delicious display of cookies.
They've been all dressed up and are ready for our neighborhood party. No one gets forgotten.
There is nothing like a small group of dedicated people working towards a common goal to make the world a better place.

It started with a sketch, an idea. Something a little different, using waterproof waxed cotten twill. I ended up with a coat that surprised even me.

Congratulations to the . You all did an amazing job and put on one hell of a show. It just gets better and better.

So excited to be going to the Big Sur Fashion show tomorrow night. The audience theme is "weather report". I made this piece for an avatar bday party, and I think it will work for the show.
My personal weather report is "blue skies, green valleys and plenty of room for possibilities"

My brides have gone full on fairy princess this year. Full skirts with hoops! And lots of glitter and sparkle.
It doesn't matter what kind of day they've had or how tired they are.My clients literally transform before my eyes when they carefully slip into their gown. They stand taller, hold themselves up straighter, and smile at their reflection
I do love my job.

It all started with an idea, then it moved to fabric choices. Next, I had to dye the vintage lace to match. Thank you, . Finally, the finished dress and the beautiful bride.

My beautiful bride Ashley and her groom Kevin got married in 2020. It wasn't the wedding/reception that they had originally planned, but the wedding they did have looks pretty spectacular. did an outstanding job capturing their day.

I recently had the pleasure of creating this sparkling gown for Leilannas debut.
It was her design and vision, I was just the conduit that could make it real.
It's always an honor to be asked to create something special and participate in a small way in my clients' special moments.

A Christmas Kitten Story.
This little girl showed up at our house late one cold blustery night. Our other cats heard her before us. They all sat up prairie dog style and looked out the window. Then we heard her little meow. We rushed outside and just caught a glimpse of the orange fur ball as she ran for our car and hid in our car engine.
We tried to lure her out to no avail.We finally decided to go to bed hoping she would be there in the morning. We woke up early and found her still cradled on the engine pan.
Not sure what to do, we called the and left a message " We're not sure if you can help us, but there's a tiny kitten hiding in the engine of our car!"
Luckily a wonderful humane officer named Angeles returned our call and said she would come out in the afternoon and she'd see what she could do.
When Angeles got there, she got down on her hands and knees trying to see the tiny bundle who at that moment decided to take off alien fast and headed for the garage. 2 hours later, we finally captured the 6 week old female kitten.
We don't know where she came from, but we figured she found us for a reason, so of course we had to adopt her, Princess Butterball is our Christmas miracle.

The food is wonderful, the staff so very accommodating and attentive, the venue comfortable and perfectly situated to catch the sunset.
