Loaves, Fishes and Computers (LFC) mission is to help overcome the digital and economic divides by providing low-cost or no-cost computer systems, technology assistance and computer repair to low-income families, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and non-profit organizations, while providing volunteers a place to learn, share & grow in the field of Computer Science & Information Technology.
The Affordable Connectivity Program ( ACP) is a federal government program that offers eligible households $30/month toward home internet services.

Pickup the latest Monterey County Weekly 11.9.23 to read the cover story about SIEDI (Salinas Inclusive Economic Development Initiative) https://bit.ly/SIEDI. SIEDI is a collective journey by nine community-based organizations with a shared commitment to build a more inclusive and equitable economy for the families and communities of the Salinas Valley. SIEDI is funded by a $3 million grant from The James Irvine Foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation for Monterey County.
The nine participating groups are the ALBA - Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association); Building Healthy Communities; Center for Community Advocacy; Centro Binacional Para El Desarrollo Indígena Oaxaqueño; Hijos del Sol Arts Productions; Loaves, Fishes & Computers, Inc.; Monterey Bay Central Labor Council; Mujeres en Acción; and Rancho Cielo Youth Campus. The five advisers are Digital NEST, Hartnell College Foundation, Chispa Housing, First 5 Monterey County and Copa.iaf.

Through their Digital Connections program, AAA is partnering with LFC to provide iPads and digital literacy support. Wondering if you qualify? Thank you to our presenters Julio Tena - Test Engineer 1, Luciano Avendano - Cyber Security Engineer, Bude Su - Professor & Dept. Chair Faculty and Kayla Rolicheck - Computer Science Online Academic Advisor for discussing about their beginnings and commitment in the field and sharing some expertise to our community.
We are excited for our next session next month.

TOMORROW! 📢 Join Chevron, MCOE, and the Fab Foundation for the Central Coast Mobile Fab Lab Community Celebration on Saturday, October 14th, from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Explore an afternoon of dreaming, designing, and creating at the official launch of the Central Coast Mobile Fab Lab. Enjoy hands-on learning and play activities, food trucks, jump houses, and a live broadcast from KDON radio. The whole family will be inspired by the Chevron STEM Zone, an interactive space for kids and parents to learn how science, technology, engineering, and math are connected to everyday life.

Last week, LFC celebrated Digital Inclusion Week, a week dedicated to bringing awareness to the digital divide and celebrating our achievements in making digital inclusion a reality. We wanted to take a moment to thank our supporters for helping LFC in helping bridge the digital divide in our community. For almost 15 years, LFC has been able to address our community's technological needs through our distinct services, and we would not have been able to do so without your generosity.
