Today is my birthday & every year, even when no one else told me Happy Birthday and/or I didn't get a card, my Momma always always called me and sent me a card. And not just any card, she wrote them herself, she would put her heart into the words. My Dad was never one to express himself with words or do anything extra to celebrate special days. But both of them never made us doubt their love. They were always there if I needed them, if I just needed to talk, to cry, to vent, or to ask how to cook something (Mom) or how to build or fix something (Dad). Today, I miss them both so much. I remember the last conversation I had with each of them, I still remember their smell, the feel of their hands, the sound of their voices, their smiles... like as if I just spoke with them yesterday. I know I am who I am today due to their love. They taught me how to care, how to survive, and how to thrive. I miss them so much & I am so happy they taught me how to be happy! I love you, Mom & Dad, I know you are watching me from Heaven and I hope you are proud of me!
