Did you know you can access ebooks, audiobooks, and other digital resources all from your own device? Well, meet Libby! Libby gives you access to all kinds of digital materials with just your library card number and PIN. If you would like to create a Libby account, you can visit any RPL location to get a library card or register for an online borrower card on our website. Teens! If you missed the stop motion animation program at RPL South yesterday, consider visiting another location this week to learn all about how to make these mini-films! This one was created yesterday at South. Make sure your vote will be counted this November! Rowan County Board of Elections member Kenneth Stutts will share nonpartisan information and materials about the new Voter ID requirements and answer audience questions at RPL East on Wednesday, September 6 at 6 pm. Rowan County Elections staff will be on hand, and voter registration forms will be available. Light refreshments will be served. Can't make it on September 6? No worries! Come Gather 'Round Young People
Come gather 'round, young people! A special musical performance will be visiting each RPL location. Stop in to hear some fabulous folk tunes, learn about a variety of instruments, tap your toes, and sing along. While this program is designed for children, people of all ages are invited to attend. The Big Bookshelf Community Art Project is happening through the end of this week! Visit any RPL location in September and fill in a paper book spine with the title of your favorite book, decorate it, and add it to your community's Big Bookshelf in celebration of Library Card Sign-Up Month.

Join the Friends of RPL Friday, April 29 through May 2 for Bookpalooza, a massive 4-day book sale event! Shop thousands of used books at the West End Plaza Event Center (formerly a JC Penney storefront). Friday, April 29: Friends of RPL Preview Sale, 6 — 8 pm (individual memberships are $10 at the door) Saturday, April 30, 9 am — 5 pm: Regular sale day; open to the public. Special sales and discounts available. Sunday, May 1, 2 — 5 pm: Regular sale day; open to the public. Special sales and discounts available. Monday, May 2, 9 am — 5 pm: Super Sale Day; shoppers can fill a box or bag for a ridiculously low price. From October 11 to December 17, create holiday cards that will be delivered to active service members in the United States Armed Forces and to veterans at the Hefner VAMC in Salisbury. Patrons can specify if their card(s) is delivered to a certain branch of the USAF or to the VA. However, cards submitted for a branch of the USAF do have specific deadlines: November 6 for cards distributed internationally, December 6 for cards distributed Stateside. Teens are invited to enjoy solo writing time featuring writing prompts, peer-to-peer reviews, and discussions on writing techniques. This virtual club meets via Zoom.
