Some beauties that arrived at the Salt Lake Store. Great for early spring color in a shady location.

Fresh product for the fall. Just look at some of these beauties!

Fresh! Flowers! To add a flourish to your landscape and pots. Coneflowers, Black-eyed-Susans, mums, ornamental peppers, pansies and more.

Hang in there gardens and gardeners! We are due for cooler weather, eventually.

Even with these hot temperatures and trying to conserve water, deep soak once a week your newly planted trees and bushes. Your lawn will bounce back from less water, but trees and shrubs are not as forgiving.

With this Utah heat, SPIDER MITES are taking their toll on plant material this summer. If you see any of the following symptoms from our photos below, here are a few things to try.

#1 Spray foliage with a high powered water hose. Frequently is preferred (read about spider mites below). This will knock the mites and their eggs off your plant.
#2 Let Lady Bugs loose on the plants. We just received a shipment of these beautiful and beneficial creatures.
#3 Ask our Garden Consultant for the latest insecticide to use.

Under optimal conditions (approximately 27 °C), the two-spotted spider mite can hatch in as little as 3 days, and become sexually mature in as little as 5 days. One female can lay up to 20 eggs per day and can live for 2 to 4 weeks, laying hundreds of eggs. Experiment for cold crop vegetables before spring hits! We have many planters in our backyard that we put annual flowers in. This year we decided to plant the cold crop veggies so by Mother’s Day, the harvest will be on and new nursery plants will be almost ready for planting. We prepared the pita by cleaning out debris, watering, and turning soil with shovel. Then we planted and the next week, Mother Nature took care of the watering! Today we have sprouts!!!! We will soon be enjoying radishes, lettuce, and snap peas! Yum!
