Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting an amazing volunteer team from at our Murray store.

They jumped right in and we accomplished a lot yesterday!

Mountain America has been such a strong supporter of both our students and graduates at The Other Side Academy. As our students progress through the program, Mountain America helps them obtain secured credit cards to build their credit, and they’ve also supported many of our graduates with car loans and other financial services.

We’re incredibly grateful for their partnership and the difference they continue to make in the lives of those we serve. We also want to thank for fueling our teams with their new Halloween donuts! 👻

Today, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Residence Inn Salt Lake City Cottonwood for their generous donation as they renovate their hotel.

Tuesday Thrift Finds! 🙌

Meet David. You might recognize him from our Millcreek location.
David’s journey began with a deep sense of alienation. From a young age, he felt like he didn’t fit in, always aware of being different. Rather than seek understanding, he used his differences to rebel, separating himself from reality and the people around him. He gravitated towards those who wouldn’t hold him accountable, choosing relationships that fed into his stubbornness and selfishness. This path led him into the grip of alcohol and drugs, which made his life unmanageable and ultimately left him homeless. His health began to deteriorate, and he found himself isolated and living a lifestyle that was quickly killing him.

In September 2020, David arrived at The Other Side Academy. “I admit, when I arrived I was stubborn, entitled, ungrateful, and unwilling to be held accountable.”

The first half of his stay was filled with resistance, as he fought against the process of change. But David stayed. He stayed until something shifted, until he began to see a glimmer of the person he could become. Today, David is no longer the man who once pushed people away. He is a mentor, a friend, and a hard worker, grounded in values he never thought possible. “Helping others and finding meaningful connections, far outweighs the selfishness that once defined me.”

Yesterday, the team from Residence Inn Salt Lake City Cottonwood came by to volunteer at our Murray location. They rolled up their sleeves in our clothing department and helped process incoming donations.

The Market will be on Saturday, October 19th from 10am-4pm!

This event is FREE! All that we ask is that you bring your talent and goods and PROMOTE the event! Previous years vendors have brought art, homemade sweets and treats, permanent jewelry, pet supplies, holiday decor, trendy/vintage clothing, furniture/home decor, candles/essential oils, and so much more!
