On this Argentine Angel.
This is my face frame highlight service- it usually takes about 1.5 hours (with style) and is a good option as an in between all over balayage service- which is usually done once or twice per year. It’s not only cost effective, but also a time saver and a beautiful, easy freshen up.

Gah! This is pretty damn cool.
And I’ll tell you why.
Long story..
At 19 I had graduated beauty school and was feeling nervous about diving into the world of hairdressing and working in a salon. I was thinking maybe I should just go apply for jobs in corporate America, but still super unsure of my direction, I was letting self doubt stop me from working in a salon.
Then one day my two good friends from Beauty school, Melinda and Rosie convinced me to go check out a handful of salons with them. About 4th on our list was DMemmot salon- the coolest salon of the time in my opinion. As we were given the tour, we met Jeff and he told me he wanted me to assist him. A couple of weeks later I began.
I became Jeff’s assistant, and also helped other stylists if I had time. I learned so much from Jeff (Jeffy) invaluable information for my career. He gave me the structure and confidence I needed to build my own clientele while also compensating me so generously (monetarily), especially considering how much I was gaining.
I assisted Jeffy for about a year and a half and continued to work side by side with him along with Shawn and Angie (and all my first salon family at Lunatic fringe salon- Sandra, Ramez, Shane, Melinda, Michelle, Dave, Rasa, Johnny K to name a few) who were so generous and good to me for several years.
Jeff is still my biggest mentor and continues to inspire me.

Now, enter the beauty in the middle of this photo- my niece, Addison🥰
Addison wanted to begin a hair career but was looking for something more customized than beauty school.
I knew Jeffy was doing apprenticeships but not at the time. I had a conversation with him and he was 💯onboard for taking Addison on as an apprentice.
1 year (roughly) after, she is now licensed and is killin it with color and cutting skills. I couldn’t be more proud, not to mention absolutely jump for joy inside when I go see Jeffy for my haircuts and also get to see my beautiful. Talented niece.
So that’s the short version of the story (I’m long winded 😉)

Fine, I guess I’ll post a photo of some of my recent work;) after all this is my hair page lol
Cause I guess that’s what we’re supposed to be doing to stay “relevant”
But I’ll be honest, between running your business- which includes working in and on your business (a basic simplified description) and being creative, on top of having to constantly provide content. It can sometimes start to feel like a constant monkey on my back. Social media takes up SO. MUCH. TIME. #
Long story short, I’m not complaining- as I feel fortunate to have the work that I do and the wonderful supportive clients, but just being honest.
Any other business owners out there feel the same? Social media is definitely helpful but can sometimes be a blessing and a curse.
