We wanted to share our 2023 Impact Report. Thanks to your support, we accomplished so much last year.
Through innovation and collaboration, we achieved our goals of reaching more pet families with spay/neuter and wellness this year to help solve the pet overpopulation problem and reduce euthanasia in shelters. We served 23,905 pets through spay/neuter services, 12,178 pets through preventative wellness, and 10,328 pets at risk of surrender to their city shelter. We hope you are as excited as we are to see all the new and exciting things we have in store in 2024.
Thank you for making 2023 an amazing year for Spay Neuter Network!

4-month-old Whiskey came in for his puppy shots. He is also starting Heartworm prevention. YAY Whiskey.

Puppy shots include Bordetella (commonly called “kennel cough”). The Bordetella bacteria causes an extremely contagious upper respiratory infection. Puppies should be given two doses of the Bordetella vaccine, about a month apart. Annual boosters are recommended if your dog regularly interacts with large groups of unknown dogs (boarding facilities, groomers, dog parks, etc.)

June is Adopt A Cat Month and we wanted to share the story of Chica.

On an oppressively hot day, a customer arrived at Daniel Vasquez’s auto shop, reporting a kitten’s cries in their car. Daniel swiftly investigated, finding the kitten inside the underbody of the car. His team dismantled the undercarriage to rescue the scared eight-week-old kitten. After calming her, Daniel decided to adopt her. Six months later, at one of our vaccination events in San Antonio, Daniel reflected on his unexpected journey, expressing newfound love for his affectionate companion, Chica. “I was always a dog person until six months ago,” he said. “But she’s amazing! She’s so affectionate and loving. And I am so glad I can come to events like this to take care of her. She means the world to me.”

As the 2023-2024 school year comes to an end, we wanted to share how successful our Humane Education team was. The team taught 8,941 students during 149 programs and distributed 2,941 books. Our Humane Education program provides humane education for elementary school children in Fort Worth to teach them about dog safety and responsible pet care. The goal of the program is to decrease the chances a child is bitten by a dog and encourage children to appreciate, respect, and take care of their family’s pets.

Employee Spotlight: For May we wanted to feature Heather. Heather is the manager of the Crandall clinic. She has been with Spay Neuter Network for almost 3 months. In her short time with SNN, she has learned so much. She said, "I have always had a passion for animals and worked with rescues but this is on another level." You can see her passion for the pets that visit the Crandall clinic. She makes sure to pet and love on all of the dogs and cats that come through the door.
Fun fact about Heather, "I spent the last 25 years in Optometry where I designed glasses for Cartier and David Yurman. In 2011 my best friend and I started a small non profit called Mission for Vision, where we provided eyecare for children in Orange County, CA.

Thank you, Heather. We appreciate all your hard work and dedication to SNN.
