We recently completed a major job on a 2012 6.7 Powerstroke diesel. The customer had been experiencing coolant loss for several weeks, but there were no visible signs of external leaks. After conducting comprehensive tests and pressure drops in the cooling system, we discovered that the combustion chamber on cylinder #3 was filling up with coolant. To fix this issue, we installed a pair of new OEM cylinder heads and a top-end gasket set, along with new fuel lines. The customer also opted for a bottom-end reseal, resulting in a complete reseal. Lower oil pan/front cover oil leaks are common on the 6.7 PSD and can result in costly repairs. To ensure that the bill is justified and only paid once, we remove the cab, engine, and all components, clean and dry them, and then reseal them with the best sealant and parts to achieve a 100% successful reseal.

Im editing a video for a job that came into the shop this week. In the mean time lets play a game. This is a 6.7L cummins engine....or was. With only this picture and knowing its a cummins, what happened here?

Customers and friends!!!!! Please be aware with high fuel prices we may be seeing cheaper quality fuel. I have 2 2018 Ford trucks in with complete fuel system failures due to either lack of fuel filter maintenance and or simply bad fuel while fueling up. If you aware of these repairs then you know the cost is extremely high to resolve and repair the issue.

The job consists of the entire high pressure fuel system needing to be replaced and the low pressure side thoroughly flushed, tank dropped down and cleaned out. It's also a very good idea to replace the low pressure fuel pump to ensure proper pressure after the repair is done. Improper torque and lack of flushing or cleaning the system can result in same system failure so its very important to have a reputable license shop to follow through with the repairs.

We are now a Pro Max certified tool carrier! Have an injector hold down bolt broken during a fuel injector R&R? No need to pull the cab and send the cylinder head out to a quality machine shop, downing your rig for weeks if not months. With the valve cover off on a 6.7 powerstroke the bolt can be easily drilled out and thread chased or in worse case scenario like pictured an insert has to be used.

Peters Built Diesel & Auto Repair will remain open! Due to the covid-19 virus alot of bigger businesses are shutting down for some time. We feel its safe to stay open due to the low volume of people traffic we have. We do ask to call in for vehicle status, questions, or estimates instead of showing up in person to avoid more foot traffic than needed.

Just a little preview of diagnosis done right first hand and hands on! This 2006 6.0 came in with a hot no start or long crank condition when hot. Once I translated the live data I knew there was a leak in the high pressure oil system and an air test was needed to pin point the leak. This test is shown in the video with the rocker covers on. The leak is present under the covers but as you can see its obivious there is a leak with air introduced. Once the covers were pulled we air tested once more and the problem was found! It can be a common issue with non updated parts and or improper instalations.
