More women are seeking sterilization since Roe vs. Wade was overturned 24/07/2022

Thank you Los Angeles Times for reaching out to discuss this topic especially here in Texas. Women have every right to discuss all of their options no matter what age you are or whether you have children or not. If you are seeking more information, please come by and let’s talk.

More women are seeking sterilization since Roe vs. Wade was overturned Women across the country are seeking out sterilization after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, which had guaranteed abortion access.

Photos from Melodie Zamora, MD, FACOG's post 30/06/2022

It took me some time to calm my anger at the ridiculous act by the Supreme Court. Their choice to take MY fundamental rights will have NO PLACE in MY OFFICE. MY OFFICE, MY CHOICE, MY RIGHTS, MY OATH to all women who need help, I will be here to offer and search for every option that you need or choose. I got you!✊🏽👩🏽‍⚕️

I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO ARGUE FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS. Our country is about FREEDOM of CHOICE for ALL, not just those with a XY. Don’t take my rights because I have a uterus.

“Access to the full spectrum of medical care, including abortion, is essential for people’s health, safety, and wellbeing. Physicians must be able to provide medical care to people without outside interference. Below are resources for obstetrician-gynecologists and partners to protect unimpeded access to the full spectrum of medical care, including abortion.” —ACOG

Infected people without symptoms might be driving the spread of coronavirus more than we realized

For those of us going to work this week, please consider doing the following:
1. Have “work only” clothes (scrubs)
2. Change into and out of these at work/ your garage/ anywhere away from your family
3. Shower immediately when you get home before interacting with your family
5. Wash your “ work only” clothes separately

Very important to keep an eye out for even minor symptoms, reduce any need for large events and stay home. I do believe asymptomatic spread is occurring. PLEASE PLEASE call your doctor’s office before going if you feel sick or have been around sick people.

cnn.com New studies in several countries and a large coronavirus outbreak in Massachusetts bring into question reassuring assertions by US officials about the way the novel virus spreads.

The harmful effects of stress during pregnancy can last a lifetime

My alma mater! Yale immunobiologists studying this issue; a great group I knew when I did research at Yale.

It is very important to discuss any issues with your OBGYN regarding any stress in your life; both during your pregnant or non pregnant state. Raise your concerns even at your annual exam, we always want to know what we can help you with.

💖

news.yale.edu According to a new study, stress in the womb and soon after birth can decrease the body’s ability to ward off bacterial infections and fight tumors for life.

Hospital Drops Baby-Friendly Program After Doctor's Baby Was Harmed - Fed Is Best

HIGH IMPACT READ

I’m a new mom (that’s my daughter on my cover sheet 🥰) and breastfeeding was something I was scared of due to having seen so many difficulties result from it: not enough nutrition for babies, influence in post partum depression, moms simply being overwhelmed.
I didn’t want to do it.. but I DID it and LOVED it! I got to do it for 7 weeks. We also supplemented and my husband enjoyed taking part in feeding his new baby girl.

We want what is BEST for our babies and the beautiful thing about medicine is that we have options! Breastfeeding, breast pumping and bottle feeding are ALL awesome: FED IS BEST.

Healthy mom and baby is our number 1 goal. I am always happy to discuss this on the office with my OB patients.

fedisbest.org Written by an anesthesiologist and Intensivist physician “The biggest achievement of my life as a physician was stopping my hospital’s Baby-Friendly program after my child was harmed.” It was September 20th, and we were headed to the hospital for my induction.
