A free, family-friendly community event, WinterFest: Under the Smokestacks welcomes the holiday season with the warm tradition of the annual lighting of the smokestacks at the Alamo Quarry Market, Nov. 12th. Families will join Santa under a flurry of snow (fake snow) for the annual lighting of the smokestacks as well as enjoying live entertainment provided by local schools, free activities from community partners, the Family Service and the Alamo Quarry Market teams, and fun-filled train rides. WinterFest sets the stage for a special visit from Santa Claus traveling all the way from the North Pole. The holiday event spreads more winter cheer than just glistening snowflakes.
