RAF080 Air Chief Marshal Sir Hugh Dowding & The WAAF Section Officer $89
The architect of Britain's aerial victory in 1940 was a career airman who rose to become Commander-In-Chief of RAF Fighter Command and spearheaded the development of the British air defense network that gave the RAF a critical advantage during the Battle of Britain.
Here we see him paying one of his regular visit to a typical Operations Room and being saluted by a young WAAF (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) Section Officer, the female equivalent of a male RAF 'Flying Officer'.

RAF081 'Battle of Britain Operations Room' Set $275
Four WAAF personnel and a male RAF sergeant stand alongside a large wooden heptagonal table on which is displayed a sectional map of southeast England and part of northern France and Belgium.
Each of the WAAFs holds a long, wooden croupier-style pushing stick with which small wooden markers representing either an enemy raiding force or a friendly defending RAF squadron. These markers showing where enemy attacks were and which squadrons would be attacking them would be moved around the map. Each WAAF also wears a radio headset and an attached mouthpiece to receive instructions and reply when necessary.
Behind the table is a large illuminated, tote-style panel board, which has the various airfields of the relevant fighter group and the Spitfire or Hurricane Squadrons operating on each airfield.
The K&C backdrop is based on the one that can still be seen today at RAF Uxbridge, which during the Battle of Britain was used by No. 11 Group Fighter Command.
This five-figure set also includes the 'heptagonal' (seven sided) map table and stand plus the tote-style panel board backdrop.

When Nicholas Romanov became Tsar of All The Russias in 1894 he inherited a vast but trouble Empire. It stretched from European Russia all the way across the Ural Mountains and into the plains and forests of Siberia and finally on to the Pacific coast port city of Vladivostok.
Its population in the early part of the 20th Century numbered over 175 million and included many different ethnicities... Russians, Tartars, Cossacks, Mongols and Chechens were just a few of the major groups.
Two of the most important symbols that held this huge country together were the Monarchy, in the shape of the Tsar and the Army which brought together all the different races and religions to serve and follow the Tsar through war and peace.
Following the defeat of its forces in the Russo Japanese War of 1905 Russia belatedly began modernising and rearming its soldiers. Some Russian military traditions however still remained... especially in its uniforms.
Although ‘khaki’ had been adopted for many everyday duties throughout the year the more conservative elements in the military hierarchy (and Nicholas himself) enjoyed seeing his troops parade in their summer white tunics and caps… and even on maneuvers.
This alternative version of our earlier Imperial Russian Infantry are wearing the strikingly white traditional Russian Summer tunics and caps.
Weapons and uniforms are typical of the period 1900-1914.

Christmas Santa Releases & ‘First Look’
Here is a preview of the Christmas set for this year, along with a few pictures to remind you of what an interesting series this is. Have a great weekend!

King & Country Toy Soldiers September's Releases - 2024 Welcome to this month’s ‘DISPATCHES’ and a pretty diverse and colourful group of new releases you would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else! Apart from the...
Sep's DISPATCHES’ features among many other items our brand-new ‘R.A.F. Operations Room’.
I also thought you might want to know what other R.A.F. figures and fighter aircraft are well into development for release either in late 2024 or in the first quarter of 2025.
First and foremost is a brand-new sculpt of that great British classic fighter… The Hawker Hurricane. It’s been quite a few years since our last Hurricane and it’s well nigh time for another and even better ONE or I should say TWO because we are working on two different famous Hurricanes:
Version #1: Squadron Leader Douglas Bader
The legless flying ace who, during The Battle of Britain was commanding 242 Squadron which at that time was flying the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb Bader’s aircraft was coded ‘LED’ and in addition had his squadron leader’s pennant painted on the left side of the aircraft just below the cockpit.
Also painted on the same side of the aircraft fuselage, near the nose, was a cartoon of an RAF flying boot kicking a little Adolf Hi**er on the backside!
A standing figure of Squadron Leader Bader is also being produced.
Version #2: Squadron Leader Bob Stanford Tuck was another leading RAF fighter ace who commanded 257 Squadron during ‘The Battle’ in his Hurricane coded ‘DTA’.
He shot down over 20 enemy aircraft during 1940 and 1941 and was awarded 1 x DSO (Distinguished Service Order) and no less than 3 x DFCs (Distinguished Flying Crosses) before himself being shot down in 1942 and remaining a P.O.W. until the end of the war.
The other ‘GREAT BRITISH CLASSIC’ is of course The Supermarine Spitfire.
More famous than the hard-working ‘Hurricane’ and not as pretty either the ‘Spit’ got most of the coverage during the Battle even though twice as many Hurricanes actually took part. At this point K&C has not made a final decision which RAF ace’s aircraft will be produced so… all suggestions gratefully received!
And so, in the meantime, here are a few RAF pix to remind you what a great series this is.
AK145 "AK Kamel Patrol Soldaten #2" $129
This second soldier is a little more wary of his camel or maybe it's some of the local Arabs watching him with suspicion. Anyway, he's taking no chances and has unslung his K98 rifle just in case...

ROM065 The Mounted Roman General $139
Even the most successful of Rome's heroes required a number of senior subordinates to fulfill their orders and oversee the troops on parade.
This senior officer turns in the saddle to watch over the progress of the Triumph.
https://www.kingsx.com/1/WsProductDetail.php?product_id=17286
ROM067 "The Lictors" (Set of 4) $169
Among the leading elements of any triumph were 'The Lictors' in their blood-red robes, their 'fasces' gathered in tight bundles and held by blood-red ribbons.
'Fasces' is a bound bundle of wooden rods that includes an axe with its blade emerging. It symbolized a Roman Emperor's power to both punish and protect his subjects.
Many centuries later, the ancient Roman symbol of the 'Fasces' would become the foremost symbol of the Fascist Regime of Italy's dictator Benito Mussolini and would feature on flags, statues, badges and medals.

ROM072 $179 "The Trumpeters" (Set of 4)
The Roman Legions employed a number of trumpeters called 'tubae' and played by selected soldier/ musicians to signal particular troop movements in battle such as 'advance, attack and retreat' as well as at different times when guards in camp should mount, sleep or change posts.
36-38 'Tubicenes' (soldier/players) would be assigned to each Legion.
These early military musicians would also take part in the 'Triumphs' with some or indeed all of the Legion's complement marching in the parade on those days.
Here are our set of 4.
