June arrives this week, and that means wedding season at Assistance League of San Antonio Thrift House! Our front display window showcases bridal dresses and outfits perfect for a variety of special summer events. Women's Clothing features classic black and white dresses and separates. Appropriate for many occasions, these never go out of style.

Art's theme this week is "Good buys, Good values" with an eclectic assortment of appealing paintings and photographs. Furniture vignettes of note include a vintage area with a marble-topped cabinet, armoire, and baby rocker. Other vignettes display a dining table set with beautiful china, and a bar cart with a pair of bright red barstools.

This is the final week of our In-Store Silent Auction, with 13 of our best items up for bids! There's a brand new violet Coach CO 952 Penelope shoulder bag, Tiffany sterling silver goose brooch c.1983, "boots" purse with malachite tassel, concealed carry purse for a gun totin' mama, new Gymboree "Come Dance with Me" clown doll, Leonard/Rogers style silver ice bucket, Kate Spade olive green leather backpack, and a set of 4 jewelry display/storage cases. Five ladies rings are up for bids: a 14k gold rope with pearl ring, 14k gold CZ pink/clear rectangular ring, 14k gold yellow/clear CZ pear-shaped ring, 14k gold peridot/citrine heart-shaped ring, and a 10k gold peridot 3 stone/3 band ring. Bidding ends Saturday June 1 at 3 pm.

Temperatures are on the rise, but everything's cool at Assistance League of San Antonio Thrift House! We're the store known for its friendly volunteer staff and top quality gently used merchandise at affordable prices. If you haven't shopped with us before, this week is a great time to start!

Furniture pieces on the sales floor for the first time Tuesday 5/21 include a Jacobean style dining room chest, marble-topped cabinet, antique hall tree, Victorian wood and glass mirror, bright red barstools, tall lingerie chest with seven drawers, vintage dresser, and a lovely antique settee.

Lots of unique home decor pieces are newly arrived in Housewares, as well as a vintage five-piece set of green and white Transferware, and several bright sets of colorful dishes. With Memorial Day coming up, Women's Clothing and the front display window highlight our country's red, white, and blue. "Junglemania" is Art's theme, featuring paintings and photographs of mammals, birds, and reptiles. Beware the ferocious tiger!

Our In-Store Silent Auction enters its home stretch by showcasing jewelry. There's a pair of bezel-set white topaz earrings along with a 14k gold peridot/citrine ring, 14k gold peridot ring with three stones, sterling silver pearl and peridot ring by Israel's Hagit Goral, sterling silver CZ amethyst color ring, 14k gold CZ pink oval stone ring, and a Joan Rivers lady bug collection consisting of 3 pins, earrings, and pendant. Also available for your bids is a Michael Kors brown/tan signature handbag. Bidding ends Saturday May 25 at 3 pm.

Furniture fresh on the sales floor Tuesday 5/14 includes a very comfortable easy chair with ottoman, large armoire, entertainment center, bookshelves, handsome grandfather clock, traditional wingback chair upholstered in a patterned turquoise fabric, and a unique side table that plays music when the lid is lifted. Merchandise from multiple estates arrives this week!

"Expand Your Mind" is Art's theme, presenting a striking array of modern art. Coming next week is our annual one-day only Sidewalk Art Sale. Be sure to mark your calendar for Friday May 24.

The In-Store Silent Auction includes a hand-carved soapstone family of four, 1991 Desert Storm trading cards, 2005 and 2007 Las Cocinitas de Fiesta cookbooks from the SA Fiesta Commission, size 7 gold over silver citrine ring along with a gold-filled 10 mm bead bracelet, and a 2002 Madame Alexander doll paired with a NY Yankees 100th Anniversary souvenir beanie baby. Also up for bids is a 1999 6-pc Effanbee Gallery Wizard of Oz collection consisting of the Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, two witches, and Dorothy. Bidding ends Saturday May 18 at 3 pm.

Vignettes of note include dining room sets with floral centerpieces, side buffets, and china cabinets. Look for sofas surrounded by coordinated chairs, end tables, and coffee tables. We have a large inventory of lamps, china cupboards, entertainment centers, and overstuffed chairs.

You're sure to find it here! Our front display window portrays a baby shower with clothing in various shades of pink, because...IT'S A GIRL!

Lots of quality furniture has arrived, positioned in vignettes on the sales floor. Among the best is a handsome dresser, oval dining table with seven chairs, a gorgeous long table with burl top and carved edge, sewing machine cabinet, pair of slipper chairs upholstered in gold fabric, and wooden filing cabinets. Merchandise from three estates is coming in this week, to be displayed for sale right away. We are thankful to have generous donors who entrust their life's treasures to us.

April showers bring May flowers, so Art's theme is "the art of flowers" with oils, watercolors, and posters sure to enhance your home decor. Women's Clothing features colorful separates that you'll want to wear this summer.

While Fiesta is in full swing, we at Assistance League of San Antonio Thrift House are thinking ahead to May 12, Mother's Day! Our Holiday department has filled the center of the store with a wide selection of gifts for that most important person in everyone's life.

Donations from an estate came in Monday 4/22, with another estate to arrive later this week. Newly arrived furniture includes an elegant entertainment center, dresser with mirror, file cabinets, desks, mirrors, shelf units, and beautiful room-size rugs. We also acquired something you may remember from your great-grandmother's laundry--a vintage electric mangle in a fine wooden cabinet! Where else could you find one of these?

New on the sales floor Tuesday 3/26 are a wood and metal day bed, elegant black wrought iron queen bed headboard/footboard, exceptional Bergere chair in a soft plaid fabric with matching ottoman, several bookcases, matched pair of cane-bottom arm chairs, cedar armoire, small Lazy Boy sofa with light brown upholstery, many beautiful pottery pieces, interesting lamps, and a variety of upscale home decor.

Art's theme is "Texas in Bloom" with landscapes, wildflower scenes, books, and silk arrangements that capture our state's beauty. Women's Clothing features bright colorful dresses and separates perfect for spring. We have Easter outfits too, still with time left to shop! There's a great selection of bunnies in the Holiday area. These critters refuse to be controlled, and some have escaped to other parts of the store! Housewares department has several sets of china, and our Round Top area has been restocked with recently arrived vintage items. In Furniture it's mirror, mirror on the wall. Who's the fairest of them all?
