I love this reminder from the poem “Don’t Hesitate” by my dear friend Mary Oliver, stitched here by . This is so simple, yet so needed in our busy lives. If you feel joy, give in to it. Don’t question it. Don’t feel like you don’t deserve it. Don’t think that it is only made for some and not all of us. Right now, I’m feeling immense joy about the launch of the ’s Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center. While there is still so much more work to be done, I have to take this moment, this moment of joy and accomplishment in order to keep going. To keep allowing myself to continue. And as Mary finished this very poem, “Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.” What are you feeling joy about right now? Share with me below!

Brain Rhythms Are Key to Understanding Cognition

A new study demonstrates the critical role of brain rhythms in cognitive processes.

The study details how rhythmic electric fields in the brain influence and synchronize neuron activity, facilitating higher cognitive functions.

By focusing on the interaction between beta and gamma rhythms and their control over sensory information encoding, the research provides a comprehensive view of how brain-wide electrical coordination enhances memory and thinking.

This paradigm-shifting perspective suggests that treating cognitive and neurological disorders could benefit significantly from targeting these rhythmic patterns, underscoring the importance of considering large-scale neural dynamics alongside traditional neuron-focused research.

Poverty’s Profound Impact on Brain Development and Behavior

A new study explores the profound impacts of socioeconomic status (SES) on brain development and subsequent behavioral and cognitive outcomes.

The research highlights how poverty and low SES contribute to adverse conditions like chronic stress, poor nutrition, and suboptimal living environments, which can negatively affect neurodevelopment from childhood into adulthood.

This comprehensive review provides a unified framework that links these adverse conditions with specific neurological changes, leading to diminished cognitive abilities, educational challenges, and increased psychiatric risks.

By illustrating the mechanisms through which poverty perpetuates itself across generations, the study emphasizes the critical need for targeted interventions to address these disparities and help break the cycle of generational poverty.

Imagine your nervous system as a delicate compass, finely tuned to detect the subtlest shifts in energy around you. Like a skilled musician, it can perceive the harmony of pure intentions and the resonance of authentic vibes amidst the noise of everyday interactions. Trust it as your sacred guide, leading you towards the nourishing vibes of genuine connections, where tranquility flows effortlessly like a gentle stream through a serene forest.

Listening closely to the energy you perceive is like tuning in to the subtle whispers of your inner wisdom. It’s essential for your health and overall well-being because these whispers often carry valuable insights about the people and environments around you. Just as your body instinctively reacts to physical sensations, your energy senses can alert you to situations or individuals that may impact you positively or negatively.

When you honor the signals your energy sends, you’re prioritizing your own self-care and setting boundaries that protect your mental, emotional, and even physical health. Ignoring energetic red flags can lead to stress, anxiety, and a sense of disconnection from your authentic wild self.

When you listen and honor your energy this is a profound powerful act of self-love, sister. 🙏🏽
