“I am honored to have been asked to testify in Congress on the Change Healthcare outage that started in February of this year and continues to devastate physician practices. On February 21 of this year, Change Healthcare, who provides the communication for billing from our practice to insurance companies and back from insurers to physicians, was hacked and shut down their services. To date, they are still not fully operational. Hospitals, pharmacies, and physician practices that were impacted were unable to bill insurance (and are still limited today) completely disrupting their cash flow. The estimate cost to the healthcare system is estimated at $1 Billion daily and counting.
Many practices across the nation only have a few weeks of cash on hand and are unable to weather this storm. Many are having to forego payroll, take out loans, sell their practices, or even in some cases close their practice altogether. It is important that Congress hears about the struggles that this has caused and the impact of decades of policy that have hurt many physician practices. I will be testifying at 10 AM Eastern time on Tuesday morning in Washington DC. The testimony will likely be 3-4 hours, so we will circulate the links after the testimony has completed.” -Dr Adam Bruggeman, Texas Spine Care Center and Advocacy Council Chair for The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS)
US health department opens probe into UnitedHealth hack The U.S. government on Wednesday said it has opened an investigation into the cyberattack at UnitedHealth Group's Change Healthcare to find out whether there was a breach of protected health data and if the company followed U.S. health privacy law.

You don't have to be positive all the time. It's perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared, and anxious. Having feelings doesn't make you a negative person. It makes you human.

There's a very close relationship between pain and depression. You can think of it as Bi-directional meaning that each entity influences the other. Pain worsens or can even cause depression and depression worsens your pain tolerance.
This worsening of your pain is not just your perception because you feel down. Depression increases your sensitivity to pain. So it's as though you feel pain more intensely when you're depressed than you would if you were not depressed.

What type of coaching do we provide at NuHope?
NuHope offers individualized coaching where we will teach you new skills to better manage your pain. This involves education and the opportunity for you to ask questions and learn about the solutions available to help treat your pain. There is no one-solution in treating pain, but instead multiple layers. Consider coaching as the missing link in the care of people who experience pain; individual coaching is simply a partnership between an expert/doctor and the patient. The end goal is to inspire the patient and for the patient to enjoy life of being pain free. We all know that pain can obscure the joys of living. Every event, hobby, job, and relationship suffers’ as pain takes over our daily lives.
Our individualized coaching will put you on track and will help you tackle your pain head-on. At first, the coaching we offer may seem like a daunting task, almost like achieving the impossible, but you will prevail, and you will be quickly immersed in our coaching program that offers solutions and will help you on your road to recovery. To take things one step further, we also offer team building workshops that compliment our coaching efforts. Our workshops allow patients to communicate with others and puts everyone’s experiences into perspective, and the support helps give you new skills in managing your pain.

NuHope has been beyond amazing!! I can't thank the staff enough for their help. I was a wet blanket when I came in after getting off extremely hard medications for the last 15+ years cold turkey!! Ms. Becky immediately helped get me on medications that aren't killing me and has done more in the last 2 months than all my previous doctors in 15+ years! I truly appreciate NuHope and everything they have done for me and my family thanks them as well. -Bobby S.
