Something was wrong with our phone all weekend, so we didn’t get any phone calls or voicemails!
If you tried to call us Sunday or Monday to make an appointment, we’re sorry we didn’t respond/call you back. Our phones are back to normal today!

Guess what? There’s no more 210 numbers for San Antonio area (yes, apparently we’ve been living under a rock 😂🪨).
So, if you can’t call to make an appointment, just text 830-688-3963!
We are trying to get our normal business number transferred into a cellphone so we can text with it. But meanwhile, we’ll keep the 3963 number so we can start texting customers. 🐩

🐩 Pink Poodle Change #3:
We will change the way we do appointments.
Up to now, we’ve been allowing customers to pick a drop off time within certain hours or “shifts”, and same with the pick up times. This has created a lot of issues for us, such as dogs being in the salon for way too long, us having very busy and very slow hours throughout the same day (sometimes doing literally nothing just waiting for dogs to arrive and then an hour later having 7 dogs in at once), and us waiting for pets to be picked up sometimes even way beyond closing time, making us stay in the salon until 8 or 9pm. This is obviously not good for the dogs and not good for us either.
👏🏻 So, from now on, we’ll start transitioning into appointment times by the book! These means that we’ll start asking you to arrive by an appointment time AND picking up by a certain time as well (and measures for these not being met will also be added) because your pets will be worked on by their assigned Groomer/Stylist at the time they arrive! It will take a while for us to make such a big change and to get it right, but we’ll do our best to make this better.
🙌🏻 We hope you understand our reasons for these changes. We want to be better for your pets and for you!

We will start accepting cards! 🙌🏻 We will not be accepting checks anymore.
Due to the increasing issues we’ve been having in the last couple of years with bad checks, we decided to stop accepting checks and accepting cards instead.
We’ll start accepting cards as soon as next Tuesday, if everything goes well! As soon as the card machine is set up, we’ll start declining checks altogether.
We will post a notice up in the salon and we will remind you of this on the phone when letting you know your pet is ready.

New software!
As y’all may know, we have been operating our family business since 1962. Except for one other time, we have been handling all of our business with pen and paper… and that’s about to change!
It’s a big feat to go from handwritten notes to a full blown grooming software… so we ask for your patience as we go through this big transition! We’ll be asking more questions about you and your pets so we can feed the system.
With this new software, you’ll be receiving reminder texts, you’ll have the option to have an online profile that you can use to update you and your pet’s info, request appointments online, be part of a loyalty program, and much more!

Education matters!!! Pick the right Pet Stylist…

Did you know that pet grooming is a completely unregulated industry? There is no requirement for formal education, no required continuing education, and no required testing or certification?

Anyone and everyone can just pick up a pair of clippers and start advertising themselves as a groomer and charge people for a service they aren’t trained to perform.

It’s completely up to you, the owner, to do your research and make sure the person you are trusting with the health and safety of your pet is qualified to care for them.

Every groomer should be trained, and that very basic training takes months.

It takes years to truly master the ins and outs of grooming and everything that goes along with it.

Pet grooming is so much more than just a hair style.

*It’s knowing dog behavior and how to safely handle all the different personalities and quirks.

*It’s recognizing health conditions that would be better suited seeing a vet such as skin or ear infections.

*It’s being prepared for any and all emergencies that can happen, from seizures to allergic reactions, to nicks and cuts and quicked toenails without panicking.

*It’s knowing how to best deal with a variety of coat types properly.

*It’s being able to know when to stop a service on a particular dog due to behavior or health.

*It’s having the knowledge and patience to handle a different species while holding razor sharp clippers or 8 inch long scissors.

At the very least, the groomer you use should seek out continuing education to make sure they are current on the changes in the industry, from upgrades in products to tools that make the process easier for the pet and them.

They should be current on their pet cpr/first aid certification which needs repeated every couple of years.

They should be able to answer your grooming related questions with knowledge and confidence and if they don’t know the answer they should know where to find it.

They should have an emergency plan in place with a local veterinarian in case anything happens, because when working with animals it’s not a matter of if something happens, but when.

They should come recommended by other pet owners and pet professionals.

And it’s worth noting that there is nothing wrong with using a groomer that is still in training, but they should be working alongside an experienced groomer and under their direct supervision.

Ask the questions, after all you are paying them for a service. A groomer who has spent time and money to be as educated as possible is excited to share their knowledge!
