Not only did Dr. Sage earn her Doctorate in Dental Surgery, but she’s also a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist! 🦷 In order to become Board Certified, Dr. Sage pursued years of extensive continuing education through postgraduate pediatric residency programs. Board certification is a beacon of commitment to children’s oral health and we’re proud to have Dr. Sage helping our patients achieve their best smiles. It has always been Dr. Sage’s passion to provide each of her patients the best care possible! 💙
Wishing all our wonderful families a joyful and relaxing Labor Day! As we celebrate this day dedicated to hard work, we hope you take a moment to cherish the smiles you create and the memories you make. May your day be filled with laughter, love, and a well-deserved break. 😊
We try to save the world one baby tooth at a time. 🦷 Our team not only provides compassionate, individualized care in the office, but we also inspire our patients to care about their oral health outside of the office. We want your kiddo to love taking care of their teeth! 💙

Brittany is here to remind you to keep up with your at-home oral hygiene routine! 🪥 Maintaining good oral hygiene prevents cavities and gum disease.🦷 The most obvious benefits to having good oral hygiene are:
⭐️ Keeps your smile bright
⭐️ Prevents more serious diseases
⭐️ Stops bad breath
⭐️ Lowers healthcare costs
Don’t rush when you brush! ⏰
Get to know your child’s dentist: Dr. Kathryn Walker! ⭐️
Dr. Walker was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and dreamed of being a dentist from a young age. To pursue that dream, she relocated to Texas for her undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University, and then earned her DDS degree from the Colorado School of Dental Medicine. 🦷
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Walker spends her time traveling with her husband and their four kids. She loves trying new restaurants around San Antonio, especially when she’s not breaking a sweat exercising! 💪
Contact us on Monday to schedule your little one’s appointment with Dr. Walker! 😊
The AHPD team is OOO while we're on our summer retreat! We're soaking up these last few days of summer. 💙 😎 ☀️
Don’t forget to stop by our prize machine at the end of your appointment! We love keeping our little patients smiling even when they leave the office.😊
Colgate PreviDent is a prescription strength toothpaste that combines the cleaning power of a toothpaste with prescription-strength fluoride! It helps restore the breakdown of enamel, prevents further decay, and aids in plaque removal. PreviDent is useful for our patients currently in braces, as it helps strengthen teeth and avoid decalcification while wearing orthodontics! 🪥 🦷
X-rays are one of the best ways to ensure your child’s smile is healthy from the inside out! With x-rays, our team is able to get a behind-the-scenes look at your little one’s grin to see things like cavities, bone and tooth development, missing teeth, and/or extra teeth. We will recommend x-rays based on your child’s unique smile and needs! 🦷
Not only can low tongue posture lead to poor orofacial health, it can also impact your child’s sleep! 💤 Proper tongue posture against the palate during sleep helps keep the upper airway open and unobstructed. When the tongue maintains its natural position, it prevents the soft tissues in the throat from collapsing and obstructing the airflow. However, those who suffer from low tongue posture can develop sleep-related breathing disorders like obstructive sleep apnea—which can come with a host of other health issues.
If you notice your child consistently breathing through their mouth, contact us to schedule an airway consultation. 🌬
From friendly staff to a saltwater fish tank, Alamo Heights Pediatric Dentistry creates a fun, comfortable environment where children not only receive exceptional dental care but also enjoy their visits. We strive to make all of our patients’ dental appointments fin-tastic! 🐟

At AHPD, we know that each and every kid requires a unique approach. We strive to see our patients leave our office inspired to participate in their own oral care! 🦷 Our team takes the time to get to know each of our little patients and to teach them about the importance of oral health so they’re set up with healthy habits for life! 🪥
At AHPD, we have the pleasure of having Dr. Walker on our team, who is not only a passionate dentist, but also a loving mother. 😊 Her experience as a mother gives her a unique understanding of not only the needs and concerns of children, but of parents as well. With her nurturing approach and gentle care, Dr. Walker creates a comforting environment where every child feels like family. We are proud to have her as part of our team! 💙
Dental anxiety is common in infants and young children, but our specially trained team is here to help calm their nerves. 😌 We strive to make dental visits a fun and stress-free experience from a young age! 🦷
At Alamo Heights Pediatric Dentistry, we want to provide only the most enjoyable dental experiences for our little patients. 🙌 One way we do this is by offering our patients blankets to use during their appointment! Our hope is that they stay cozy and smiling throughout their entire visit. 🥰
Little teeth need special care! 🦷 Your little one should have their first dental appointment as soon as the first tooth appears, but no later than their first birthday. 1️⃣ 🎈 This first visit will help your child get used to the dentist and allow us to answer any questions you may have. Making sure your child is comfortable with our team will help them develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime!
The tongue plays an important role in speech, chewing, swallow, oral hygiene, and breathing functions. It also assists in the development of the maxillofacial complex and upper airway. Because of its importance, restricted movement of the tongue may lead to dysfunctional compensations that can negatively affect nasal breathing and contribute to chronic stress on the other muscles of the head and neck. As your tongue tie experts here in San Antonio, we can help correct tongue mobility issues in your child before they have any long-term impacts on their smile! 👅 ✨
Dr. Walker has always loved the carefree spirit that kids bring to the world. 💙 Alamo Heights Pediatric Dentistry is proud to have her as part of our distinguished team, where she works with little ones and their parents to prevent dental decay. Dr. Walker treats all of her little patients with kindness and love. She’s excited to help your child build a positive relationship with oral hygiene! 😊
