This summer, we took our CAMP scholars on their first trip of the year. Our first destination was Santa Barbara, where we explored UCSB and its graduate programs. We also looked at Santa Barbara's Historical monuments and walked along the beach.
During the second week of our residential CAMP Summer Bridge, our students participated in math and career workshops and took on new adventures. After sessions, they explored Santa Ana, Anaheim, watched the Anaheim Angels, and so much more!!
This year we held our first Summer Bridge for our CAMP scholars. Besides spending our mornings advancing our writing and critical thinking skills on our first residential week, we ensured our scholars explored the cities around CSUSB. We visited cities like Riverside, Ontario, and San Bernardino in the afternoons.
This year's scholars attended our first-ever CSUSB CAMP Summer Bridge program! Students attended summer classes that gave them study and learning techniques that will help them during college, such as Speed Reading & Memory, College Writing Intensive, and College Math: Intensive Review and Strategies. Students also attended workshops like the Plus Me Storytellers, EAG: Critical Learning Strategies, SSD: Self Advocacy, and Dr. J Munoz's MMUF and NIH Project.
