Ready to kick wasteful leaks to the curb? A good place to begin checking for leaks is your water bill. If your habits have not changed but your water consumption has increased, you may have a leak on your property. You can identify leaks by turning off all water using devices in your home. If the dial on your water meter continues to spin, your property is likely experiencing a leak and a plumber should be contacted immediately. Visit SBMWD.org for more water saving tips.
Inefficient watering of outdoor landscapes is the biggest source of water loss for most residential customers. Broken or malfunctioning irrigation systems impact your water bill and cause wasteful runoff onto sidewalks and streets. Prepare for the warmer months ahead by checking your irrigation system for any broken or improperly adjusted sprinklers. SBMWD offers several outdoor efficiency programs including rebates for efficient sprinkler heads and irrigation controllers. Visit www.SBMWD.org/Rebates for more information and to apply.
