A much anticipated update on Ember A563955! We know how much the community has been eagerly awaiting some news. 🐾

Unfortunately, with little evidence or information, Ember’s case has stalled out, but that means she’s now officially released from her hold and adoptable. At least, she was! Ember’s amazing foster mom couldn’t imagine a life without Ember and adopted her! 💖

She has recovered exceptionally well and continues to get better every day. While her physical scars remain, Ember’s new family has worked patiently to heal her heart and make her feel loved. And she definitely looks it! We’re wishing Ember and her new family so much happiness! 🐶💕

Thank you to all who kept Ember in their thoughts and cheered her on! 🤗

We need a foster urgently for this little litter of kittens! These five babies are about 6-7 weeks old and eating wet food! They just need to grow and build up a little more strength!

These guys would need to be in a foster home for about two weeks. After that, they will be returned to the shelter for adoption!

If you have a little space, time, and the desire to help some animals in need, these guys are great for a first time foster!

Meet Cowboy (A561450), a 3 year old German Shepherd Mix ! ❤️

Cowboy is potty trained and walks well on a leash. He also knows commands for sit and shake. 🐕

He loves going on walks and has even been on road trips with his foster family. 🚗🌄. While he does love being active, he is very mellow at home✨. He often snuggles up with his foster family at the end of the day.

He is currently living with another dog and 2 cats at his foster home🐱🐶🏠.

He has also met chickens and rabbits with his foster parent's supervision🐣🐰.

Cowboy likes meeting new people and has interacted positively with children👨‍👩‍👧.

Have you been considering becoming a foster pet parent? Join us next week on August 14th at 6pm for our "Kitten Shower"! We will be discussing the foster program, providing instruction on bottle feeding, and reviewing general care for our most at-risk animals. If you've been wanting to learn more about the foster program or how to care for orphaned pets, please come in!

During this event, we will also be collecting donations to support our foster program! This can include kitten pate, blankets, pet wipes, etc. A donation is not required to attend!

Sandi (A566696) is a staff-favorite female Husky who was transferred from Riverside and has been used as a greeter dog in playgroups. She’s very friendly with people and dogs and matches the energies of other dogs in playgroups. ❤️🐕

Ash (Adopted) has been growing steadily over the past 13 weeks because of our wonderful fosters. 💞🐱🐾 You can help support our foster program through generous donations of quart-sized Ziplock bags, small blankets, used towels and pet wipes. ❗In order to get a voucher you MUST live in the City of San Bernardino, within our jurisdiction. No exceptions. Contract and other cities do not qualify. Your appointment will be cancelled.❗

To help keep our furry friends safe this Fourth of July, The City of San Bernardino Animal Shelter is offering FREE microchipping for pets!

Eligibility: This event is open to residents of San Bernardino and our contracting cities: Colton, Grand Terrace, Fontana, Loma Linda, & Rialto

If you do not live in one of the cities mentioned, you are more than welcome to bring your pet(s) to be microchipped for $25.

🐾What is a Microchip?
A microchip is a small, electronic chip enclosed in a glass cylinder about the size of a grain of rice. It is implanted just under your pet's skin and contains a unique identification number. When scanned by a vet or shelter, this number can be used to find your contact information, greatly increasing the chances of being reunited with your pet if they get lost. Please do your part and register to have the most up-to-date information. The microchips come with free registration! 😊

No appointment necessary – just bring your pet and ensure they are protected!

🎆 Fourth of July Pet Safety Tips 🎆

As we gear up to celebrate Independence Day, it's important to remember our furry friends and ensure their safety and comfort during the festivities. Here are some essential tips from San Bernardino City Animal Shelter to keep your pets safe:

-Keep Pets Indoors: 🏡 Fireworks can be loud and frightening. Keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure area.

-Create a Safe Space: 🛏️ Set up a comfortable, quiet space with their favorite bed, toys, and maybe some calming music.

-Update ID Tags and Microchips: 💼 Ensure ID tags and microchip info are up-to-date. Free microchips July 1-3 for city residents. Stay tuned for details tomorrow at 10am.

-Avoid Fireworks Exposure: 🚫🎇 Never bring pets to fireworks displays. The noise and crowds can be overwhelming and dangerous.

-Keep Hazardous Items Away: 🧨 Ensure pets can't access fireworks, glow sticks, and sparklers.

-Watch Out for Party Food: 🍔🍫 Many festive foods are toxic. Keep pets away from alcohol, chocolate, grapes, onions, and more.

-Consult Your Vet: 🩺 If your pet has severe anxiety, talk to your vet about calming options or medications.

Rosiepuff, a cat room favorite, has finally been adopted! After being returned to the shelter, we were all rooting for this sweet girl to land the perfect home. Her new family went to great lengths to ensure she would be safe and able to join their family. Congratulations to Miss Rosiepuff and all her new family members!
