We are moving young people away from su***de, anxiety, and depression… And, towards hope, healing, and hearing from God. You deserve that.
Our hope is that you would know which voices inside your head are from God, which are from your own pain, and which are the lying dark voices. We want you to experience hearing the loving voice of God in a personal way that brings healing and gives you spiritual power to “shut up” the bad voices. With God’s help, you really can shut up the dark voices inside your head. You can shut them up and mak
Hey everyone, I’m Leona, a high school senior in the Midwest. 🌾
I’m all about football cheer, student council (I’m the president!), NHS, and I’m the VP of Illinois State Student Council. 🏆
I want to share something important with you—mental health. 💭 It’s not always easy to talk about, but trust me, it gets better. Two years ago, I was at my lowest. I didn’t think things would ever change, but once I started opening up and finding a supportive community, everything turned around.💯
Finding your people—those who genuinely care and want the best for you—makes all the difference. Back then, I kept myself super busy to avoid my feelings, but that only made things worse. Now, I’ve learned healthier ways to cope, and I’ve never felt better. Sure, there are still tough days, but I’ve learned to focus on the positives.☀️😎
Remember, it’s okay to ask for help, and it’s okay to not be okay. You’re never alone in this. ✨
“Teenagers are philosophers. They are thinking about the big things like existence and identity at a time when their identities are changing so fast.” - Matt Haig
Do you think young people are like philosophers? Do they wonder about who they are and why they exist while going through so many changes? We do! That’s why we trust teens to lead this movement.💥
🌟 The book that started the movement is right here: “ShutUp”!! 🌟
Please send prayers and positive vibes for our 1024 team as we finish up the next book, “Life-Line.” 🛟 We’re immersing ourselves in a writing retreat next week! 🖊️📚
Our goal with the Life-Line book is to equip teens and college students with the tools to help their friends who might be struggling with mental health challenges.
Stay tuned and thank you for your support! 🙏💖
“The weirdest thing about a mind is that you can have the most intense things going on in there, but no one else can see them.” - Matt Haig
In other words, it’s crazy how your mind can be buzzing with the wildest thoughts, but no one else can see a thing.
Check out Chapter 9 in the “Shut Up” book (page 95) for tips on finding safe people! Our new “Life-Line” book will also help you find Safe People. 📚✨
Appreciation post for our 4 amazing Summer interns who are making a huge impact! Stay tuned for an upcoming video where they share from the heart 🎥

“Understand that thoughts are thoughts. If they are unreasonable, reason with them, even if you have no reason left. You are the observer of your mind, not its victim.” - Matt Haig
In other words.. Remember that thoughts are just thoughts. If they seem unreasonable, try to think through them, even if it feels tough. You watch your mind; you don’t have to be controlled by it.
It is also important to find safe people to share your thoughts with - the highs and lows of life! Check out our chapter on “safe people” in the Shut Up book.
What thoughts do you need to reason with, observe, or share?! 💭
“Depression is also smaller than you. Always, it is smaller than you, even when it feels vast. It operates within you, you do not operate within it.” - Matt Haig
Do you realize that depression is smaller than you, even when it feels overwhelming? Remember, it operates within you—you do not operate within it.
If you ever feel depressed or overwhelmed, reach out. We’re here to help! 🤍
“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience.
You walk in the rain & you feel the rain, but, importantly, YOU ARE NOT THE RAIN.” ☔️⛈️
- Matt Haig
Have you ever felt defined by a mental health issue? It might be time to let that go. We’re here to help! 🤍

It’s time to break the silence. How can we create a more supportive environment for men to connect and share?
Meet Tyler! 🙌 He’s a youth pastor, author, NBA sports writer, podcaster, and coach. 🏀📚🎙️
Tyler has some valuable mental health tips to share:
1) Find someone to talk to. 🗣️
2) Experiment with different methods until you find what works for you. 🔍
3) Seek professional help until you connect with the right person. 🤝
Which tip resonates most with you? Post below or DM us. 💬

How can you regularly check in and support the men in your life?
Did you know that the “Shut Up” book is packed with interactive activities to assess and improve your mental health?! Swipe left for just two examples: 1) assessing the negative voices in your head (page 55) and 2) The “5-5-5” challenge — which can definitely boost your mood! (Pages 56-57).
This weekend, consider heading to the beach, a park, or interacting with these activities from the comfort of your room. Let us know how it goes!
“It takes more courage to reveal insecurities than to hide them, more strength to relate to people than to dominate them, more ‘manhood’ to abide by thought-out principles rather than blind reflex…
Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles and an immature mind.”
– Alex Karras (athlete, actor, and author)
In other words, we think Alex is saying that it takes more guts to show your insecurities than to hide them, more strength to connect with people than to control them, and more maturity to stick to well-thought-out principles rather than acting on impulse. Real toughness comes from within, not from muscles or an immature mindset.

“There is no normal life that is free of pain. It’s the very wrestling with our problems that can be the impetus for our growth.” — Fred Rogers
How can you keep “growing through your pain?”Reflect on that important question as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month. 🫶🏼
Hey everyone‼️ I’m Tara, part of the incredible 1024 team💥 Three years ago, I joined this life-saving movement, driven by the urgent need to address the mental health crisis.
During the pandemic lockdowns, I witnessed firsthand the struggles of seemingly perfect students, who battled isolation and loneliness. 😔
In the summer of 2021, our student board and I named ourselves the “1024 Movement” because we’re determined to combat the alarming rate of su***de among ages 10-24.
I’m passionate about connecting with young people nationwide who share our aim to tackle the mental health crisis. If you’re a teen or twenty-something with a passion for change, consider joining our student board! Just drop me a message. You can also recommend someone.
Let’s make a difference together! 🔥💬
MAY = Mental Health Awareness Month 🌟
This month and always, the 1024 Movement is committed to bringing HOPE + HEALING to this generation.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.” — John Green
Hey everyone, I’m Logan…a senior at Menlo College, about to graduate, & diving into grad school! 📚
I’m on the Wrestling team & overseeing the RAs! 🤼♂️
In my role, I’ve witnessed students facing depression due to 1) lack of community 2) lack of awareness of resources available. 😔 But guess what? It’s becoming less taboo to talk about it, which means fewer students feel alone! 🎯
My advice to students of all ages is to take things one day at a time, don’t miss out the moment!
“My dark days made me strong. Or maybe I already was strong, and they made me prove it.” — Emery Lord
We all experience dark days. It’s the way we respond to those dark days that shapes who we are and our future.☀️

“Be dedicated to change the way in which people see mental illness at all levels of society. If not for yourself, advocate for those who are struggling in silence.” — Germany Kent

Hey! My name is Abigail Morazzini, and I am a freshman at Concordia University Irvine. Go Golden Eagles!🦅
I have had the privilege of being mentored by CUI Alumni, this past academic year. Tara introduced me to the 1024 Movement and helped me work through deciding upon my major, which was a stressful time for me. I received the book Shut Up in the mail from the 1024 team at the perfect time, with a personalized inscription that gave me confidence in moving forward! 👟
I know God is with us all at every step in our journey. No matter what happens, He is there to pick us back up when we fall and guide us in the right direction. After all, He works all things for the good of those who love Him and have been called according to His purposes! (Romans 8:28)
