HMP’s Health Outreach Program is looking for Pre-PA or Pre-Nursing students to share their pre-health experiences to high school students from underrepresented and/or underserved backgrounds.
If you are interested, we ask that you record yourself answering the questions below. The video can be anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes long! We’ll leave it up to you.
1) Why did you choose to pursue a pre-PA or pre-Nursing track? And what do you hope to achieve as a PA or a nurse?
2) How have your experiences been so far?
3) What advice do you have for high school students looking to pursue a nursing or PA track?
The videos will be compiled and presented in the HOP Nursing/PA workshop on February 9th. Please send your submissions to [email protected] by the 5th of February. Thank you for your help! We look forward to hearing from you!
More about the Health Outreach Program (HOP)

As we get ready to start one of the most interesting years at UCSD, we're sure that many of us have unique goals we'd like to get to. Maybe that goal will be getting up earlier every day and fixing that quarantine sleeping schedule. Or maybe it's finding the motivation to get out and go for a run every day. Maybe you want to learn a new language, or take your cooking skills beyond cereal and instant ramen.
HMP3 has a number of goals that they're setting our sights on this year as well, especially to empower the next generation of healthcare and health-related professionals. Whatever your goal might be, let's start together.
Join HMP3 for their first GBM, or general body meeting, on September 30th at 1:00pm pst! Click on the link to register for the Zoom meeting now. They'll be going over who they are, what their organization does, and how you can get involved. Keep in mind that the link is case sensitive.
Join us to find out how to apply to HMP3’s subcommittees, including HOP!

Underrepresentation is a huge problem in medicine. Diversity in healthcare professions is important to ensure quality patient care for individuals of all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
That's why the Health Outreach Program (HOP) aims to educate high school students of underrepresented and underprivileged backgrounds about careers in the healthcare field. We hold workshops to educate, train, and inspire high school students of all backgrounds.
