There are 30 orders going out tomorrow and 10 orders waiting for a reprint due to mistakes. For those who have asked if there is anything left, YES but also I'm going to open this up for one day to help me pay costs I incurred to unrefundable postage mistakes and, well, pay my rent if we are being entirely honest. This should be the last of it, folks! I will try to get through all the emails and messages by Friday. My sincerest apologies for those who have waited so patiently for me to get through this. If I was my own employee, I would have fired myself for how long this took. Hi. First, I am so incredibly grateful for the 400+ orders that have allowed me to take care of my staff and a few vendors. Second, I am so incredibly sorry to those whose shipments have been ridiculously delayed for a myriad of reasons (and I'm sorry I have not responded to all of the DMs and emails yet). If you have yet to receive your order, please trust (a word I dont use lightly after 2019) that everything will be out within the next few days. I am still in the building and have about 2 more days of shipping work ahead of me. I am no longer arranging pickups with new requests because it stops me in my tracks and I already have about 25 people's bags waiting that have yet to pickup (I will recontact you if you are one of those). So... again, thank you. It's coming. I appreciate all of you. Truly. I would be annoyed with me, too. I *am* annoyed with me, too. USPS has been underwater. We have been so overwhelmed from and grateful for all of the merch orders. Printing started this week and I'll be spending the weekend putting orders together and shipping. *If you would like to pick up in person* please email me your name and confirmation of items ordered (or order #) to [email protected] and I will set up a time for that to happen. Reimbursement of shipping fees can come via venmo, paypal or cash. *If you have not ordered anything yet and still want to* DO IT. TL;DR: Our viral post from yesterday has been resolved. These amazing ladies connected with me after a very unfortunate misunderstanding. Not only did their QR code payment get sent to some restaurant in Temecula, but staff didn't exactly relay the entire situation accurately. I'm using this moment as a time to pause and remind myself that I still believe the world is inherently good and to not let social media and our inability to connect, hug and touch people in person this year stoke a fire we can't control. I made a mistake and I'm grateful for their grace and understanding.

It's hard to fully convey the rollercoaster of emotions that 2020 has me riding on. We pivoted. We've fed musicians, bartenders, servers, and friends in our community who were out of work and unsure if the little money they had saved was going to support themselves and their families for however long this pandemic was going to affect us. When we received funding in May, we caught up on our staff's payroll, we did our best to pay off other small businesses we have accounts with and thought (naively, like many) that this quarantine/lockdown would allow us to reopen and operate like normal - or, at least as close to normal as possible. We are obviously no where near that yet.

I listen to customers every day request their favorite menu items, ask me questions about why Small Bar changed last year, and encouragingly tell me what a great job we are doing.

The fact of the matter is, running a small business right now is harder than it has ever been in Small Bar's now 12th year of existence. I'm without the resources to satisfy every customer's request (yes, I know you all love fuego melts, fried pickles and corn dogs). And last night, I snapped. At 9:30pm, it was relayed to me by staff that two rude customers had left without paying their bill. My gut told me this was a mistake, but there was another voice screaming "F**k this s**t!"

I'm tired and I'm angry. My assumption based on the aforementioned "rude" comments was that two drunk girls thought they completed a "touchless" QR code but simply screwed it up. I posted a message meant to embarrass whoever these girls were, with the idea that when they woke up they'd see my challenge to post their security camera images and pay their tab. I've never even looked at the security cameras and had zero intention of posting images. I immediately received messages from concerned friends and strangers who offered to pay their tab, and to each one I politely declined their offers saying all I wanted was for them to do the right thing. It was never my intention for their names or faces to ever go public. I believe in karma and allow frustrations to be blown off for the most part.

Social media does what social media does. And without apology. We see it every day. Untrue memes and stories get spread. We protest, cancel and want not only a pint of blood but a lock of hair.

The women in this selfie with me didn't deserve the words they read about themselves yesterday. They also didn't deserve to wake up to me seemingly threatening their integrity. Although we basically had the situation resolved fairly early in the day, they still came to see me. We cried together. Because life is heavy right now. They told me they understood how hard these times are for me (cue the ugly crying) and told me how much my little bar means to them. I apologized for how my actions and words made them feel. Then I poured us each a Harlot, socially distanced across the bar and had a good chat about life.

I'm human. They're human. Technology isnt reliable. Deep breath.

Stay vigilant in that there are more good people than bad people. And, don't angry post on social media.
