Game schedules for the second half of the rec season are out. Coaches have received emails to let them know. Keep an eye on your team calendar for upcoming games!

Today is the last chance to sign up for the At The Break Tournament. If your player is on a team that will not participate as a group, you can still sign them up individually to be placed on a team for the tournament. Don 't miss this chance!

A special thank you to the owners of the Dairy Queen in Roseville who donated a coupon for a free 12 oz. Blizzard for every RYSC player! These were handed out to each coach during equipment pickup on Saturday for distribution to the players at first practice. What more delicious way is there to celebrate starting practices this week!

Attention coaches and team managers: a friendly reminder that today (8/5) is team equipment pickup at Maidu Regional Park back around at the soccer fields. Our competitive team trainers will also offer a coaching techniques field session immediately following equipment handout.

The Uniform kit for 2023 is the same as the prior two years and thus if yours still fits or you have a hand-me-down from 2021-22 it is perfectly fine. The uniform is not included with registration so if you don’t have one be sure and order today.

As Spring season quickly approaches, parents and coaches need to be stressing the importance of nutrition for our young athletes. As a reminder: ⁠

Quick Tips for Optimal Youth Soccer Nutrition⁠
Below is a list of some quick tips for youth soccer nutrition:⁠
⁠
Diet should consist of 60% carbohydrates, 25% fat, 15% protein⁠
Carbohydrates should be primarily in the form of whole grains, fresh fruits, potatoes, pasta⁠
Proteins should come from lean meats, nuts and fish⁠
Saturated fat intake should be reduced where possible⁠
The pre-match meal should be eaten around 3-4 hours before the match⁠
The child should stay well hydrated at all times including during the match⁠
After the match, the child should consume a high-carb meal within the first 2 hours⁠
Adequate vitamins and minerals can be obtained from food so there is no need for any additional supplements⁠
