You know you’re going to have a good night in class when Ellanora The Fabulous Puppy Trainer (my daughter) graces you with her presence! 🥰😆 Last night, she helped our teenage puppies in Training Club Class practice their polite greetings, and we played a round of non-competitive Musical Chairs with a playlist she curated just for the pups. 🎶🐶🎉

This may just look like a picture of a a very adorable dog in a crate. (I mean, I guess it is, but that’s not the point. 😆) But, it’s also a picture of ✨progress✨ and a symbol of dedication and consistency. This little guy has been working on learning to relax in his room of the house when he can’t be next to his people. Working with his veterinarian for medication management, practicing daily, collecting data and keeping records, and moving at a pace he is ready for have all set him up to be able to lie here, peacefully chewing his bone after a walk, for over four minutes. Four minutes may not sound like a big deal - but anyone who has worked through a separation anxiety protocol will tell you it is a huge accomplishment! We’ve got a ways to go, but we are seeing some nice signals that he’s on a good path toward peace and success. So proud of you and your people, Hershey! 🥰🤩

Samwise doesn’t have all his shots yet, so he takes his wagon around town for socialization. Every Saturday morning, he shows up to puppy class like this, and it’s the most brilliant, adorable thing.

Kingsley working on cooperative care behaviors in puppy class. Cooperative care training helps dogs communicate with us using subtle body language, rather than avoiding or snapping, when they need space or a break. It also helps them build their confidence to be an active participant in common care that they need throughout their lives. 🤗 🐾
