April 1st marked 6 years in East Village. Today I happened to catch our original location out of the corner of my eye while having coffee with Ing. The image painted on our 13th street wall was an image designed by .on.tape and it was a depiction of the original garden. Over the last 6 years, this image has guided us to a vision of church that we did not see coming. A church measured not by attendance and financial bottom lines, but by a pursuit of connectivity that gives way to generative realities. This is what excites us. This picture gets us out of bed. This picture keeps us planted, and germinating into something we humbly desire to God made. Thanks to Michael for the image and thank you to all of you who have been compelled with us by the vision. Be on the lookout for some upcoming 2S events in the Summer and Fall and follow all that God is doing .sd

Join us this coming Friday December 23rd at 6pm to light up East Village with the warmth and festivities of Christmas. We are excited to have NBKC joining us! The music is gonna go off! Friends and family, under the stars, a warm drink in hand, cookies crumbling in our fingers, St Nick ho ho hoing, while kids imagine their best Xmas craft, all celebrating Christmas and meeting new friends from the neighborhood! CAN’T WAIT! See you there 🎄

So much goes into a gathering and we thank all of you who through efforts of heart, mind and body, make our Sunday gatherings beautiful. Bless you all, it truly takes the community. Today we are taking a day of rest. We hope you discover the grace and peace of Jesus in your day today. May your celebration tomorrow be full of joy and gratitude. See you next week at J and 11th at 10am as we bless East Village by cleaning the streets and spreading lots of love and prayer. Our service time will last an hour and be followed by a coffee and donut social. We look forward to seeing you!
