Venue update! Our Feb. 9 BrokenBeat show will now be at Wicked West (Main Room) in National City. It's a super dope venue that is very friendly to the bass music scene and we cannot wait to show up there, and with your help, turn it OUT!

Let’s rock Wicked West! Come out a little early for the night and show this bar how strong our community and scene is!!

Music starts at 7:30pm, door is free before 8:30pm so come out early the kitchen will be open.

After watching the weather and consulting with Quartyard, we decided we didn't want to risk a rainout and so we secured an indoor/outdoor venue that will let us keep the show going and we are excited to check out this large capacity venue with you!

To sweeten the deal, we are extending the music hours from 4pm-10pm and our headliners will play extended sets - more thick cuts that you crave to hear and skank out to!

Introducing the first batch of our support cast

A long standing resident and co-conspirator of BrokenBeat, our very own PUPPY KICKER (Justin Conrad) has been a part of the BrokenBeat family for the past 15 years, going back to the OG Kadan days. A true to the word musician, PUPPY KICKER or ‘PK’ for short was first introduced to the electronic music scene through warehouse parties in the LA area in the mid-90’s.

Initially aversive to anything electronic due to his live music roots, PK found himself enamored by the musical elements of House. Them horn sections and jazzy keys had the boy bobbin’ his head and stampin’ his feet. To the beat. To the beat. To the beat (repeat for 32 measures).

Following artists like Amon Tobin and labels like Ninja Tune eventually led him to this bass music niche he carved out for himself, and led him to gigs alongside artists like VibeSquaD, Excision, Sukh Night, Pinch, and gigs all over Black Rock City.

You can find him behind the decks for this one throwing down a nasty B2B breaks set w Skandar.
