Cheese Lovers Club Accoutrement: Rustic Bakery Twinkle Cookies

Carol LeValley & Josh Harris started Rustic Bakery on a whim in 2005. The couple found their passion for baking in a simple sourdough flatbread cracker that Carol would whip up for friends.

They stopped at Cowgirl Creamery in San Francisco and said their cheeses deserved a special cracker. The cowgirls literally bit into one and ordered 50 cases. Nearly two decades later, Rustic Bakery has grown to include crackers and cookies.

Handmade in Sonoma County, these Cinnamon Spice Sugar Twinkle cookies are a Venissimo holiday favorite!

Cheese Lovers Club Cheese #3: Stilton Colston Bassett

From Nottinghamshire, England, this is the finest and creamiest example of Stilton available today. Made with the milk from five herds of cows grazing near Colston-Bassett dairy, this handmade version has a fine, bark-like natural rind and ample blue veining.

Slightly crumbly and very fudgy, try with a sweet wine like Port for a wonderful combination.

Derived from the French word racler meaning “to scrape,” raclette refers to both the type of cheese and the traditional Swiss technique of melting cheese and scraping it off onto potatoes, meats, and veggies.

This Swiss raclette is based on a recipe that dates back hundreds of years. With milk from Swiss brown cows that graze on fresh alpine grass in the summer and meadow hay in the winter, it is both nutty and funky. You don’t need special equipment to enjoy its melty goodness.
